MAJOR PROJECTS

ROBOTIC PLASTIC SEPERATOR (In-Progress)

Description: Plastic bags are one of the few new chemical materials which pose environmental problem. Plastic bags are used because they are simple and economical to make and they can last a long time. Unfortunately, these same useful qualities can make plastic a huge cleanliness problem. Because the plastic is most economical it gets discarded easily and its persistence in the environment can do great harm. We propose robotic plastic bags separator for separating plastic bags from mixtures, of waste such as paper, fibers, aluminium foil, copper wire chips, sand, and glass. The robotic arm is fitted with an IR sensor and flex sensor to identify the plastic material. The combined output from the IR sensor and flex sensor are processed by the microcontroller and issues commands to sort out the plastic from other materials. Here we use IR sensors and flex sensors to sense the materials for separation. The reflected signal from the IR transmitter can be used to separate the plastic from the waste. The Robot applies some angular displacement to the plastic to confirm before placing in the plastic waste box. This Robot can be used to pick up plastic bags lying by the roadside, playground and all around us. Humans and robots can work alongside to make our planet safe from plastic pollution.

DESIGN OF VLSI BASED FOUR PORT ROUTER (Dec-2014-Jan-2015)

Description: In this project we implement a parallel router which can support five requests simultaneously. Thus the speed of communication can be increased after reducing communication bottleneck by using simplest routing mechanism, flow mechanism and decoding logic. Design And Verify the functionality of the “Design and Verification Four Port Router for Network on Chip” IP core using the latest verification methodologies, Hardware Verification Languages and EDAtools and qualify the IP for Synthesis an implementation.90% of ASIC respins are due to functional bugs. As the functional verification decides the quality of the silicon, we spend 60% of the design cycle time only for the verification/simulation. In order to avoid the delay and meet the TTM, we use the latest verification methodologies and technologies and accelerate the verification process. This project helps one to understand the complete functional verification process of complex ASICs an SoC’s and it gives opportunity to try the latest verification methodologies, programming concepts like Object Oriented Programming of Hardware Verification Languages and sophisticated EDA tools, for the high quality verification.

MEDIA PLAYER CONTROLLER BASED ON HAND GESTURE RECOGNITION VIA WEBCAM

(Feb-2015)

Description: Sixth Sense Technology comrades technologies like image capturing, hand gesture recognition etc. senses helps us to recognize information about the environment in dissimilar ways in the same way it also helps to identify information . Digital world has now become a part of our life apart from physical world and with the use of internet it becomes much more useful than physical world. Now there are many forms of digital world available in the market like smart phones, computer, tablets, laptops and many more. For individual to interact with the digital world he need to learn it. Thus sixth sense technology works as an access point between real world and digital world. The detection of a hand is an emerging research issue now-a-days to control the devices by hand motion. Hand detection method uses colour information from a web-camera. This Project addresses a solution for a host of gesture-based controls for media player on laptop via webcam. The core functionality is detection mode developed to capture hands, detect hands, recognize the movements of hand which is covered by a colours and then it triggers the output that steer the windows media player. The algorithm is developed to provide a real-time hand detection to control media player, which requires efficiency and rapid response.
