Work Experience:

Hess, Houston TX (Industry: Oil & Gas) Mar 2012 – Present

Role: Senior FI/CO consultant converted to employee

Provided LEAN solution to a two year outstanding Electronic Funds Transfer problem that was said it couldn’t be done within SAP. Found a solution and it was implemented within 2 months and over 500 man hours will be saved per year. Additionally, reduced the number of business related funds transfers, executed outside SAP, will significantly reduce risk of error (e.g. potential duplicate payments) and potential fraud.

Worked close with Cash Management with support of bank configuration for a conversion project.

Managed a team of 5 people onshore to direct support the finance department located in Houston TX using SAP. Worked close with the offshore support team, which services were provided by two of the big Four consulting firms. Hired onshore consultants to provide SAP support.

Hold Weekly team meetings, Bi-weekly One-on-One, Mid-year and Year-end reviews for direct reports, advised on how to be more efficient on their projects to ensure to meet the dead lines.

Project Manager for the China implementation which includes hands-on configuration, testing, writing documentation and trained users when implementing the Alternative Chart of Accounts (needed for country specific reporting in Chinese). Served the security team on how to assign the objects in the business role to secure that the users of China government only could view specific data. Provided auditors with supported information regarding production postings and configuration (where transports couldn’t be used).

Organized and ran the IT intern summer program for 11 interns. Work incl. match managers to interview the interns. Assign hired interns a mentor and ensure they had a working relationship. Assigned to the HR transformation project as the IT lead for the conversion from SAP to SuccessFactor (SFSF), IT lead for Testing and IT lead for Data Governance. Hands-On created the first mini data conversion, so we could show the final users about the new system (SFSF) in the first workshop.

Assigned to Hess new re-implementation of SAP. Converted the G/L accounts and reassigned the Cost Center Hierarchy, created report painter reports, assisted with fixed assets . Provided the business assistance with intercompany postings and creating master data directly in production, documented in details what had been done according to the auditors’ rules.

Tested the newly upgraded Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) module and assisted with problem solving. Reported problems to SAP and worked with coworkers to test the solution. Made some configuration for go-live and assisted with the training scheduled for the users.

Tested AR for the ECC 6.0 enhancement package 5 upgrade and assisted with problem solving in different areas: FA, Cash Management, PRA, Joint Venture and researched if OSS Notes had been applied.

Attended training in Joint Venture module and provided some support for the same.

Configured foreign currency revaluation for month end close and assisted user with assessment allocation.

Thorough testing in SAP how newly created profit centers would need to be changed in already created cost objects. Configured part of the new profit center hierarchy, to visualize the idea of the end result.

Wrote technical specifications for programs that needed to be created to enable the profit center changes in the cost objects, including a program change for a foreign exchange report. Made test data.

Attended workshops regarding how to split up one company code into many other company codes, so Hess would be able to take advantage of tax benefits and provided the customized solution for the Revenue and Operation Expense income statements.

Researched the effort it would take to have the functional area turned on for Hess. Played around with the configuration and testing. Reviewed and debugged the substitution and validation rules Hess has in place.

Implemented EDI 820 (customer payments file) for US. Made required configuration to enable automatic upload into SAP. Mapped the EDI820 file’s data into the IDOC segments fields.
