Headquarter of GSK is at Brentford, England. GSK is one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical & healthcare company and it manufactures Horlicks, Boost, Viva and Maltova, Biscuits and promotes and distributes Eno, Crocin, Iodex and Sensodyne.

The main purpose of this project is, based on client requirement to extract the data from different source systems and loading the required data into the data Warehouse to create centralized reporting system. This will help the top management to view the daily (or monthly or yearly) sales data by region, business and by product. So, it will be helpful to analyze business and to improve the business.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Understanding customer requirements.

Involved in Analysis, Design and Development.

Extracting the data from multiple source systems and loading into Data warehouse using Informatica Power Center.

Used Informatica Designer to create mappings using different transformations like Sequence Generator, Filter, Lookup, Joiner, Update Strategy, Expressions and Aggregator transformations to move the required data to a Target.

Implemented Slowly changing dimension Type – 2 for change data capture

Used Source Analyzer and Target designer to import the source and target database schemas, and the Mapping Designer to map the sources to the target.

Used mapping variables and mapping parameters in the mappings

Responsible for the performance tuning of the ETL process at source level, target level, mapping level, and session level

Extensively working with performance tuning at mappings level like implementing active transformation like filter as early as possible in the mappings
