Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate multiple field crews on multiple projects.
Manage payroll, expense, safety recording, and OSHA compliance.
Oversee the quality of field survey work performed by the survey field crews under my supervision.
Provide training, technical support, and survey support to all field personnel.
Coordinate with project managers and clients to oversee field survey work being performed, managing
timeline requirements, and survey activities.
Act as a company representative, communicating directly with client field representatives and land
owners, developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
Prepare and communicate field notes, sketches, checklists and digital data in required formats for
Project Managers, Land Surveyors and Drafting personnel.
Contribute to the development and implementation of industry best practices, more efficient field
processes and procedures and the innovative use of new technology.
Actively participate in and proactively support the advancement of the focus safety program, including
safety recording, job safety meetings, and continuing safety training.
Resolve work problems encountered in the field and recommend measures to improve productivity and
safety to the project manager.
Participate & conduct annual performance management reviews for the personnel within my area of
supervision.
Perform daily work site inspections, monitor to ensure safe work procedures and strong work quality.
Report all daily progress and safety concerns to the project manager.
Follow the construction execution plan and or job scope while executing work activities.
Execute work packages as per the project schedule; meet and review any issues or items out of scope
with the project manager.
Supervise, coordinate and direct all phases of land survey act as responsible party for work quality and
progress of assigned survey parties.
Train personnel and review survey procedures, check technical aspects of land survey procedures, and
insure crews are functioning at a high performance level safely.
Prepare, review and verify accuracy of: plats, alignment sheets, legal descriptions, maps, site specific
drawings and aerial photographs. Perform survey calculations as required for subdivisions, establishment
of roadway alignments, survey closures and geodetic ties and verify accuracy in the field.
Direct the activities of GPS work which includes geodetic and topographical surveying.
Act as party chief in field, including, but not limited to: job safety meetings, data collection, notes,
calculations, data processing, and all aspects of instrument persons and rodman duties.
