Currently designing and developing a high-throughput low latency solutions for offshore asset transfer pricing. Built the core computation engine using Spark, Kafka and ElasticSearch and working on related data storage and services infrastructure for a new product being created by the company.

RedJack, LLC (Telecommute), Oct 2014 – July 2015 (Senior Big Data Architect)

Was involved in building out machine learning systems for use against network threats and cyber warfare activity by the NSA, DoD, DHS and other private organizations such as hedge funds and healthcare organizations.

Built out an intrusion detection and other analytic process system on AWS from scratch in less than 6 months.

Created the next version using Kinesis and Storm for real-time processing.

Created, developed and deployed a number of analytics functions for intrusion detection, protocol mimicry, behavioral analysis, etc.

Unidos Financial Services, New York NY, Aug 2013 – Sep 2014 (Director, Software Architecture)

Was responsible for redesigning and managing a team to implement a money transfer system which supports multiple financial products such as bill payment, mobile payments, etc.

Created new product for prepaid credit card transactions while maintaining a relationship with large channel partner and customer for introduction of the product into nationwide banks and teller systems.

Created DR and scalable platform on AWS for the purpose of OEM white-label of the platform. Opened up a major new partner channel (FIS) responsible for $1.5 million revenue this year.

Architected and managed on-shore and off-shore teams in building a new HTML/CSS/MVC and responsive UI based web site for customers. In the process transitioned from agent-based to self-managed workflow process for money senders and opened up a new channel of business estimated to fetch $3.5 million in the next year.

Independent Consultant, New York NY, May 2010 – July 2013

At IntelliPayment, designed and built new infrastructure software products for an auto loan origination financial company.

The product technology involved dynamic real time algorithms for interest and loan computations as well as integration with third party systems from auto dealerships.

Technology being used was HTML/jQuery, ASP.NET MVC4, C#, Sql Server and MongoDB.

At Konnect2, served as independent CTO, designed and built a portfolio management system for a financial services startup firm in the fixed-income bond trading industry. Aided the company in achieving Series A.

Product had a complex frontend UI system implemented in WPF, MVVM, WCF RIA and n tier architecture principles. The backend was written in C# and used business object modeling and Linq to SQL.

At Synovia, LLC designed and built a set of services in C# to manage and control all aspects of educational and police department fleet vehicles in conjunction with laptops and mobile device applications for the user.

Designed and built the software in C# using .NET 4, WCF and WF on the server side, WPF on the client side and Objective-C and Java on the mobile side.

Skiff, New York NY, Sep 2006 – April 2010 (Chief Software Architect)

As one of the initial 3 employees and Chief Software Architect at Skiff (formerly known as FirstPaper) I designed and built an industrial strength content management system and mobile advertising services which relay relevant content from parent company Hearst Interactive Media to a next-generation e-book reader device using E-Ink technology.

Spent 2 years in Shanghai to help create a new company to build the Skiff e-reader device off-shore and explore services created for the Chinese marketplace.

Created a custom and secure version of the Android OS for the device with superior power management.

Spun-off and sold the Shanghai division to the Chinese government for a 200% return.

The software was built using agile and SOA principles, design patterns and C#.NET 3.5 including WF and WCF with SQL Server 2008 R2.

Authored 5 patents in relevant mobile technologies.

Skiff was sold to News Corp for IP assets.

Independent Consultant, New York NY, June 2003 – Aug 2006

At Show and Tell, architected and built a multithreaded real-time data server to relay Bloomberg market data to live video displays at the company site, in C#.

As the server displayed extremely few defects, I was commissioned to further rewrite the media and live video servers also, which manage the Bloomberg BMDS display machines.

The original was in Linux/C and was rewritten from scratch in C# utilizing the appropriate modern architecture principles, in less time than it would have taken to port the original.

At Digital Railroad, developed an e-commerce site for a rights-managed photo feed startup, which consequently got funded in the order of $5.2 million Series A.

Designed and implemented a backend to support 150 million+ images and provide indexing and image processing services in a highly scalable manner.

Built background services for image processing and FTP syndication of photos to buyer accounts at major media firms.

Also implemented strategic portions of the front-end web site using ASP.NET, C# and ADO.NET with SQL Server

At Miranda Learning Systems designed and built a system for delivering e-learning content through the Internet.

The resulting system was XML and SCORM compliant.

Additionally, also developed e-learning content for training users in C#.NET, VB.NET, ASP.NET and XML.

Broadbeam Corp., Princeton NJ/Salsa Systems, New York NY, Jan 2000 – May 2003 (CEO, Chief Architect)

As Co-founder and Chief Architect of Salsa Systems, was deeply involved in design, Agile development, sales, marketing and packaging of an enterprise-level integration server and visual application development environment (IDE) product, Salsa Studio.

As result of fund-raising activities, achieved Series A and B rounds from Manhattan-based institutional investors and implemented key pieces of the product until subsequent sale of the company to Broadbeam Corp. in April, 2002 for a 400% return on investment.

Tools used were: Rational Rose, Visual Studio 6, Win32 API, ATL, Visual Studio.NET, Embedded Visual C++ 3, Embedded VB 3, CodeWarrior, ASP, ADO, ADO.NET, ADOCE, SQL Server, Sybase.

Was instrumental in the successful merger of Salsa Systems with Broadbeam.

Upon deal completion, I assumed the role of Chief Architect to facilitate introduction of the flagship Salsa Studio product to market under the Broadbeam brand.

Coordinated, designed and integrated client and server pieces for local synch/cache and push-based alerting products for handheld and wireless software developers within the enterprise.

Authored 3 patents in client-server computing (referenced in Samsung-Apple trial).

Determined that B2C was not a profitable market area and changed strategy to found Salsa Systems, which was subsequently funded in the second half of 2000 and acquired by Broadbeam in 2002.
