Created Emerging Issues Research capability, to define future direction through research and peer relationships, enabling rapid turnaround when funding is available. Oversaw rapid planning, execution and completion of a $900,000 project for 64,000 sq. ft., including major remediation, within 6 months.

Created Program Management Center, where standards, tools and consistency are developed for running projects, holding project managers accountable for budget and schedule. Directly improved inter-organizational communications, execution and respect.

Developed organizational metrics used in decision-making by senior management. An example of this is relocating academic journals to the University’s storage facility, and enhanced services to bring articles directly to requestors’ laptops, at an annual savings to the Libraries of $1.9 million.

Built a high-density, compact storage facility (a $5-million project for 20,000 sq. ft.) that effectively meets environmental needs of all forms of media for preservation (LEEDS). At-risk items are now in a facility that will preserve them for more than two centuries.

Set up the AS400 as a separate node on the network, the first time this was accomplished.

Reduced annual operating costs by $75,000, through setting up multiplexers and fiber optic lines where data and audio could be transferred between plants.
