ROYAL BANK OF CANADA 2013 – 2015

Program Manager

Engaged by the corporate VP of IT to redirect an off-track Application Certification Testing (ACT) program to support an enterprise-wide Desktop Software Upgrade (DSU) program impacting 100,000 users.

Completed a time sensitive program certification by collaborating with leaders of all of the bank’s business areas to clarify priorities and set/manage expectations, enabling rolling deployments that led to project completion in 30 months.

Doubled infrastructure testing facilities and reassigned testing assets to reduce churn and identify compatibility issues, increasing testing process throughput >500% while simultaneously enabling corrective measures prior to deployment.

Captured and redesigned the certification application process, reducing the process from 45 to 10 days, 2 days for urgent certification/packaging activities.

As Voice-of-the-Customer, identified and addressed base operating system issues discovered during testing and led corrections that ensured successful testing conditions and an improved operating system image for deployment.

Successfully certified 2500 applications and retested >10,000 through the ACT process, inclusive of packaging and testing activities.

LOBLAW COMPANIES LIMITED 2010 – 2013

Senior Manager Program and Portfolio Management, Infrastructure & Operations Reporting to the Senior Director/VP of Infrastructure & Operations with an annual budget of $70 Million, led a core team of 14 Program and Project Managers in program/project delivery for a portfolio of 70 IT Tools, IT Security & Risk and Operations projects with capital budgets of up to $40 Million.

Delivered >60 enterprise projects in 3 years on-time/within budget, contributing to 5-year $25M cost reduction goals in addition to anticipated project benefits.

In Year 1, assigned 8 key infrastructure projects valued at $26M that had been delayed due to staffing changes and budgetary constraints. Delivered the projects on time and under budget by consolidating project management into a program portfolio executed by a team of Project/ Program Managers and third party companies with expertise in the required technologies.

Subsequently delivered 40 projects budgeted at $70M for $55M, exceeding expectations and driving additional funding back into business operations.

Contributed to additional reduction in the cost of delivering projects and provided transparency for planning purposes by training >1,000 IT resources in the tools/systems used to consolidate project activities and reporting at the request of the IT PMO.

Led a team of 100 staff, contractors and third party resources in the replacement of 13 previous generation severs with 6 IBM System 7’s through an in-place migration with no downtime, reducing power consumption and heat mitigation costs by as much as 50% and alleviating data centre power consumption threshold challenges.

Engaged to review/redress an off-track 3-year point-of-sale software development project.

Assessed potential ROI for the $2M budgeted for the project and recommended termination due to financial constraints on the organization, saving >$1M and over 2 years of additional effort.

Senior Project Manager, Program Management

Reporting to the Account Delivery Manager, directed the Global Knowledge Management program for Delphi Automotive as part of a 5-year $40 Million infrastructure outsourcing engagement.

With a team of 4 global Project Managers in 4 locations, gathered all transition information necessary for the successful delivery of the data centre migrations to HP in <18 months.

Led the web hosting transition to HP hosting services for all internal/external hosted sites and web-enabled applications, enabling Delhi to consolidate and rationalise IT infrastructure and reduce costs, and retaining Delphi as a key automotive client for HP. Senior Project Manager/Account Delivery Manager

Managed the transition of Hawaiian Telcom’s migration to mainland USA on behalf of BearingPoint; subsequently appointed to lead the delivery of HP services to BearingPoint.

Delivered the migration of all Hawaiian Telcom’s services and applications to HP’s datacentre on time/on budget, reducing downtime for core services during final cutover by 50%.

Managed the relationship between HP and BearingPoint for 6 months as Delivery Lead for all infrastructure solution and hosting, a contract with a $50M value over 5 years. SPRINT CANADA 2004 – 2005

Senior Project Manager

Led the end-to-end software rewrite of Sprint’s order entry and fulfillment systems to enable the activation and management of ADSL services.

Delivered the order fulfilment software solution for Sprint’s ADSL high speed internet service, a

$16M investment that enabled Sprint to go to market with its own ADLS service offering.

Delivered a $3.5M code rewrite and infrastructure upgrade to the Siebel front-end order entry system that enabled kiosk functionality, allowing customers to self-manage their orders. SUN LIFE FINANCIAL 2002 – 2003

Senior Project Manager

Delivered the design, build and migration to Active Directory from NetWare.

Led a major Network Operating System design and deployment project that included the decommissioning of Netware. Awarded an Integration award for delivering this complex solution on time/within budget.
