Resident project engineer (Al-Abdulhadi Engineering Consultancy): accountable of the Namthoung - Louang Namtha - Namo 115kV substation and transmission line project in The Lao People's Democratic Republic.

The scope of the work comprises two main Lots:

OHL construction (about 130 Km)

AIS Substation Construction and extension

My main tasks are:

To ensure the Monitoring and Controlling part of the project management and particularly the Quality control.

To issue a monthly work progress report, to hold meeting between all stakeholders, and to deal with all the happening issues.

To oversee the design and its conformity with employer specifications and the state of the art standards

To witness all the Factory tests required for equipments according to the standards

To ensure the supervision of all site works executed by the contractors such as site survey, Construction, Erection, Installation and Commissioning.

I am accountable of the maintenance of

25 high voltage substations from 33kv up to 400kv

55 transformer and auto transformer of a total installed capacity of 3460 MVA

353 km of overhead lines (from 90KV up to 225KV)

101 km of underground cable (from 90KV up to 225KV)

As a Chief Service of high voltage equipment maintenance I am managing a multidisciplinary team in charge of:

- Ensuring corrective (breakdown works) and preventive maintenance of electrical transmission primary equipment within substations. The task involves the maintenance of GIS switchgear at different voltage levels such as: 4OOkv (SIEMENS 8DQ1), 225kv (ALSTHOM B105, SIEMENS 8DN9), 90kv (SHENEIDER TH7, VATHEC TH7m, SIEMENS 8DN9, AREVA B65), and 33kV (Merlin Gerin & ABB Sace), Corrective and preventive maintenance of primary equipment in AIS substations( Circuit breaker, Disconnecter, CT,VT, Gantary…).Maintenance of Power Autotransformers & Transformers, their On-Load Tap Changers and auxiliaries.

- Ensuring corrective and preventive systematic maintenance of high-voltage overhead power line and high-voltage cables from 90kv up to 225kv(replacement of insulators string, repairing and replacement of ground wire, live washing, joint confection, underground cable handling

- Establishing the yearly and weekly maintenance plan for the whole unit using our CMMS (COSWIN),

- Supervising the commissioning tests, the approval and the integration of new equipment (Substations, OHL, and HV Cables) issued from new projects

- Developing of technical specification for issuing tenders, then technical and commercial evaluation of the bidders (for Underground Cables and Power Transformers)

Personal achievement

- As a personal action and within the context of my master degree end of study project, I elaborate a feasibility study about the possibility of implantation of an asset management system responding to ISO 55001 requirements within a maintenance unit (Electricity transmission assets)

As member of the high voltage equipment’s maintenance practice improvement group:

- I was assigned as the coordinator of the work group, my mission is to formalize and validate procedures dealing with GIS maintenance,

- I participate to the elaboration of maintenance procedure for the different primary equipment in the AIS substations,

- I was assigned of the elaboration of high voltage underground cable maintenance procedures;

- I gave training course about High Voltage underground cables maintenance and the maintenance of high voltage equipment within transmission substations at the STEG's training center for juniors audience.

February 2009 to December 2010

Maintenance engineer responsible for the maintenance of high voltage devices in transmission substations at the National Company of Electricity and Gas: my task is to ensure corrective and preventive maintenance of electrical Transmission substations.

Examples of my main missions:

- The installation of the movable substation of Béjaoua Tunis.

- The reparation of the autotransformer (225/90 KV PUWELS) of Goulette Tunis.

- Connection of the autotransformer to the GIS substation (ALSTHOM B105)

- The decommissioning and commissioning of several high voltage devices in AIS substations (circuit-breaker, CT, VT, Power transformers

Chief Service Gas at the National Company of Electricity and Gas:

-Ensuring the Work activity and operating of the distribution Gas network in Nabeul locality.

-Taking part to the development of some projects studies.

-Member of the group charged of the development and standardizations of Work procedures in gas distribution activities.

January 2006 to February 2009 ((at the end i was promoted to the grade of Deputy Chief Service)

Project engineer at the National Company of Electricity and Gas:

-I was charged of managing a program (set of projects) having as a main objective the extension of the natural gas network in the town of Nabeul and surroundings. The program participated to realization of the organization strategy targeting to foster the natural gas use in the industrial and tertiary sectors in Tunisia and for residential customers. The total budget of the program is almost 1500000 euro yearly and I was managing five subcontractors with a total turnover of 400000 euro yearly.

-I have contributed to the introduction of the quality system practices within the gas service and we were certified ISO 9001

March 2005 to January 2006

Maintenance engineer with the (CRDA) Regional Commissary for Agricultural Development (a sub department of the Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fishing) of “Elkef” Governorate: Maintenance of water substations pumping, intervention on the electrical control system, repair and replacement of pumps, repairing of water network, maintenance and repair of gasoil generators.

November 2003 to March 2005

Hydro mechanical supervisor in the construction project of Oued Ezzarga dam’s, I was member of the project team as a supervisory engineer responsible for controlling and monitoring of hydro mechanical and electrical activities. My task was to:

-Follow up the erection of the hydraulic material and the implantation of the electrical material in the dam..

-Control the work of welding water pipeline

-Follow up the installation the instrumentation materials as well as the staff training.
