Synopsis

I have worked for over 15 years within the upstream and downstream projects, both at contractor and client organizations; predominantly in Pipeline (Gas & Oil), Offshore platforms and facilities, Gas plant and facilities. My experience spans in dept at effectively making necessary assessments, defining and implementing project strategies, evaluating and delivering against requirements and with a deep knowledge of quality assurance related specifications and standard.

QA support on projects and address various requirements for design, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning and start up operation.

Quality Management

Review all technical project documentation at contract award and highlight changes and/or discrepancies between pre-award and contract documentation and deficiencies in tender method statements.

Building, implement, maintain, and continuously improving on Projects Portfolio Quality Management System.

Coating survey - Conduct survey work to previously completed steelwork sections on a new build bridge using suitable survey and coating inspection equipment.

The specification is:

-Surface preparation: Blast clean to ISO 8501-1-Sa21/2 using garnet abrasive.

-Coating system: 1st Coat: 2-pack epoxy primer (red) @ 75 microns DFT

-2nd Coat: 2-pack epoxy intermediate (brown) @ 125 microns DFT

-3rd Coat: 2-pack epoxy intermediate (grey) @ 125 microns DFT

-4th Coat: 2-pack epoxy intermediate (blue) @ 50 microns DFT

Specialist coatings – Review list of specialist product, limitations, surface preparation, methods of application, film thickness, quality control requirements during and post application.

-Solvent free polyurethane (>1mm)

-Glass flake vinyl ester (>2mm)

-Moisture cured urethane (typically 200 microns)

-Solvent free epoxy (can cure under water)

-Silicone aluminum (typically 25-50 microns)

Marine coating – Engaged to offer advice on a new-build ship programme for a VLCC. Context of worldwide trading, 85% activity, a speed of 14knots and a docking interval of 60 months.

Requirements:

-Current rules and regulations relating to ballast tanks void spaces and cargo oil tanks.

-Coating systems for ballast tanks, void spaces, cargo oil tanks, main deck, and external superstructure, outside shell above and below water. These include preparation or parameters for the chosen systems.

-Specific paint testing requirements including potential compatibility issues with pre-fabrication primers.

-Issues of repair methodology to main block welds.

-Review of different types of anti-fouling.

Welding and Material Engineering

Develops welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment to problems involving fabrication of metals, utilizing knowledge of production specifications, properties and characteristics of metals and metal alloys, and engineering principles.

Conducts research and development investigations to develop and test new fabrication processes and procedures and improve existing welding methodology.

Prepares welding technical reports.

Establishes welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel relating to specification restrictions, material processes, pre- and post-heating requirements which involve use of complex alloys, unusual fabrication methods, welding of critical joints, and complex post-heating requirements.

Directs and coordinates technical personnel in performing inspections to ensure workers' compliance with established welding procedures, restrictions, and standards; in testing welds for conformance with national code requirements; or testing welding personnel for certification.

Subsea and Offshore Engineering

Considerable experience in subsea construction, offshore platform and FPSO works include some or all of the following: (SURF) subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines, Oil loading terminals (OLT), Subsea system, and Subsea trees

Monitor and follow up contract - structural steel procurement, fabrication and load-out of about 1,000 tons of subsea structures, including two 4-slots production manifolds with associated suction piles, well jumpers, tubing head frames, X-mass tree ROV panels and control system elements.

Participate in HAZOPS, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and System Integration Testing (SIT)

Ensure all subsea system interface issues are identified, managed and closed out

Providing assistance to operating assets ensuring safe and reliable production from the subsea installations

Maintaining the Subsea Integrity Management process

Defining the Integrity Management Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
