Teradata – Enterprise DataWarehouse And Research Depot[EDWARD]

Edward objective is to provide a single source of data, to meet the different reporting and analysis needs.

Processes are developed to retrieve data from different sources into a huge Teradata database. These processes can sometime be a onetime data pull and retire the legacy applications OR processes which will be scheduled to pull data from other sources into Edward on a regular[monthly/weekly] basis.

Responsibilities:

Develop BTEQ scripts to retrieve data from other sources into Edward.

Perform Unit testing, System Integration testing on the developed scripts and move them to PROD following the company standards.

Also, developed some BTEQs to load reporting tables as per Business reporting requirements.

Held Daily meetings with Onshore and Offshore team members to resolve any issues/concerns.

Write Teradata SQL to generate reports as per the business requirements on Edward.

Retiring Legacy applications in some cases.

Performance tunes the production Teradata SQL queries and solves the spool space issues.

Member Analytics Platform team analyses the Shop Your Way member’s transactional data on a daily basis and compare their current day sales with prior periods. This is done on a Daily, Weekly, Annual and Year to Date basis. The business would be able to see all the metrics for a particular time period on the Member Performance Scorecard Dashboard.

Responsibilities:

Create an Individual Member View Dashboard with all the attributes associated to the member and rank them based on their sales.

Wrote BTEQ scripts in Unix to import and export data to and from the Teradata tables.

Use Teradata Mload and FastLoad utilities through Unix to extract data from flat files and

load to Teradata tables.

Analyze and generate sales variance report of current period against last period and last year this period sales.

Participate in Daily meeting with Business Units to resolve any issues/concerns.

Write Teradata SQL to generate reports as per the business requirements.

Creating new packages & enhancing existing packages with Teradata SQL & Microsoft SQL Server.
