Resume:

Dear Hiring Manager:

I am writing to express my interest in the HR Coordinator position. I recently graduated with a Masters of Arts (M.A) degree in organizational management at the Antioch University Los Angeles.

As a recent graduate with a M.A. in organizational management, I am always looking to expand and apply my knowledge and foster my work-related skills. Therefore, this position would be a great opportunity to demonstrate and apply my strengths and skills in the area that I have a passion for, human resources.

During my time as an assistant manager at a fast food restaurant, I took part in all aspects of business operations and learned how the business ran. Not only was I responsible for hiring and organizing employees’ work schedule, I was also instrumental in solving interpersonal problems, disputes, and conflicts among employees and customers. I gained valuable experience cultivating my leadership skills and learning to become an effective manager. My passion is to help resolve conflict, maintain a positive workplace, and motivate people in the work environment. My aim is to optimize employee efficiency, employee wellbeing and overall performance to ultimately contribute to a company’s success.

While I was in graduate school I took part in HR internships at both Achievement Matters and Halston. Achievement Matters is a non-profit one-on-one tutoring company that provides free tutoring services to disadvantaged students, and those who qualify under the No Child Left Behind Act. Halston is a high-end fashion company influenced by the fashion icon and designer Roy Halston Forwick with retail stores across the United States. As an intern, I gained valuable knowledge regarding all aspects of HR including recruitment, conflict resolution, employee retention, as well as the policies and laws in both corporate and retail environments. One of my primary responsibilities was preparing, maintaining, and updating employee files. My experience at two very different industries allows me to be able to work effectively in any environment and with diverse people.

More recently, I worked at Amobee, a digital marketing company, as a temporary Human Resources Coordinator filling in for someone who was on maternity leave. I gained experience with onboarding new hires including doing background checks for candidates, preparing new hire paperwork, and conducting orientations. I was also responsible for processing terminations such as preparing exit paperwork, scheduling interviews, and conducting exit interviews. In addition, I worked closely with the Sr. Manager, Payroll & Benefits, regarding employee’s change of status and payroll as well as with the Director of HR and recruiters with writing offer letters, salary change letters, and promotion letters. My biggest accomplishment was utilizing the exit interviews and survey data to analyze Amobee’s turnover and putting together a PowerPoint presentation for the HR Director.

I believe as an employee at your company, I can use my positive energy and knowledge of organizational management to contribute support to your Human Resources Department and promote a positive work atmosphere at your company.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Sincerely,

Ann Luu
