Process Control Via VFDs

Project

Process Control Modification Project For ENGRO Polymers and Chemicals

Electrical team engineer involved in research of shifting of process control from control valves to VFDs. The project is aimed at saving electrical energy by optimising power consumption of pump/blower/compressor – motor pairs by manipulating their rpms via VFDs. Thus, eliminating need of throttling control valves. Resulting in not only electrical energy conservation but also savings in form of reduced control valves, motors and driven machine maintenance. Project Commissioning For ENGRO Polymers and Chemicals Electrical team engineer involved in commissioning and start-up of $4M Engro Chiller Project (ECAN). Job scope included supervision of electrical team technicians in carrying out field activities, power/control cable laying and testing as well as system configuration of soft starters, electrical interlocks and protection relays.

Electrical Network Study

PSRM Audit by DuPONT

Reliability Enhancement Study at ENGRO Polymers and Chemicals Electrical team engineer that aided Siemens in conducting electrical network study for EPCL. Analysed the overcurrent protection of MV feeders and motors and verified their coordination with upstream relays. Developed a report containing the list of recommendations to remove the irregularities in the protection settings.

Safety Audit Preparation at ENGRO Polymers and Chemicals Part of I&E team of engineers responsible for preparation of DuPONT’s PSRM safety audit. Led a team of engineers and technicians in auditing of field practices and departmental documents. Closed the recommendations of 1st and 2nd party audits.

Engro Polymer and Chemicals obtained a score of 4.2/5.0 by DuPONT. The most by any Engro Company.
