Technical Manager/Network Engineer, Rolling Bay LLC 04/2008 to 02/2015

Network Operations Manager for the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Science (SC) Local Area Network (LAN). Led the Operations Center and the Network Operations (NetOps) Technical Support Team in all IT facets in day-to-day operations of the SC network.

Responsibilities varied greatly and primarily included:

•Served as the technical manager and led a technical team in the operation and maintenance of backend systems that included Microsoft SQL Server, Exchange Server, System Center 2012 Configuration Manager, Internet Information Server (IIS), remote connectivity solutions Virtual Private Network (VPN) Windows Terminal Server, VMWare Horizon View and Citrix, server virtualization solutions (VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V), backup applications, network management tools, printing, cyber security, Network Attached Storage (NAS), and numerous other technologies

As Senior Program Manager (PM) for the Office of Advanced Scientific Computing Research (ASCR) at the DOE, duties included:

•Managed all technical resources and assignments, such as reporting, budgeting, procurement, and all additional project management activities

•Performed and obtained an understanding of contract administration

•Coordinated and managed technical projects; formulated, documented, and managed control processes

•Was highly involved in all project planning and coordination working closely with senior-level Federal management and contractor support staff

•Participated and was hands-on with the day-to-day operations of the network, upgrading of applications and hardware, implementation of new technologies and solutions, and cyber security of the ASCR Research and Development (R&D) network
