Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:

My duties were handling power tools,prepping surfaces for paint, painting, blasting, working in tight confined spaces Sandblasting, Spray painting, Operating Heavy Equipment, and Maintaining Sandblast and Paint Equipment . Operator of Boom lifts, Forklifts, Bobcat, Scissor lifts, Airless Pumps,, Air Compressors, Dehumidifiers, and I also have the knowledge to maintaining all painting equipment such as the Spray guns, Blast pots, Hoses, and Couplings that are located on the paint and blasting equipment. I also have experience mixing 2 & 3 part paint systems for application on marine decks,marine steel, and Tanks.

INSULATOR :

Removed/Installed insulation on surface pipes, valves, traps, flanges, boiler casings, boiler drums, water lines, and gas lines.

Made templates to fabricate insulating materials.

Used sketches, blueprints, instructions, and work orders to determine necessary materials needed, sequence of steps, and amount of material.

Utilized wire, metal straps, adhesive, bonds, butt straps, fastens, and spot weld pins to ensure insulation is secured.

BLASTER :

I was responsible for the preparation of metal surfaces for painting, and also painting components, equipment, interiors, and exteriors of vessels .Used solvents to wash surfaces to remove grease, rust, scale, and dirt. Washed and treated surface with turpentine and other Derado clean. Abraded surfaces of metal and hard-composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart specified finish, using abrasive-blasting equipment: Masked specified areas of object to protect from abrading action. Turned valves on equipment to regulate pressure and composition of abrasive mixture flowing through and manually directed nozzle over surfaces of large parts.

Having the knowledge, Skills, and Abilities of standard practices and methods of the painting trade. Skills in the use and care of tools and equipment used in the painting trade. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. As an apprentice I went through vigorous on job training to make me qualified . Referred to as SP1-SP2 training (preparing surface with hand tools, Also SP11 training while using power tooling with grinders, wire wheels, etc ...
