Knowledgeable of mold temps, barrel temps, heater bands, feed throats, transfer positioning, back pressure, decompression/suck back, cooling time, decreasing cycle time. Hold and Pack, viscosity and velocity. Fill time, RMP speeds and colorant/LDR percentages.

Knowledgeable on how to read and use calipers, micrometers, comparators, etc.

I can troubleshoot routine and complex issues with Injection, Blow molding machines. I am utilized with accumulators, screen packs, hoppers and material and resins in general. Preventing “Flashing”, Weight, and color variation from occurring.

Ability to pull, set, and start up injection molding machines, extrusion blow molding machines.

Knowledgeable on many different types of injection molding machines, Distributing parts for Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Subaru.

I have knowledge of cycle in molds, cycle time, cores, ejectors, etc. Excellent observation skills, and Strong mechanical skills along with initiative and ability to work with minimum supervision.

Knowledgeable of Heat Transfer Label (HTL), Leak Testers, Hot Stamps, Labels and Supervising operators while maintaining accurate production of presses.

Class Four Fork Lift Certified, Clamp and Sit down Lift trucks.

Job Synopsis

Manufacturing and processing injection mold machines for food and packaging industries.

I assist in making adjustments and/or repairs to the presses/production equipment, within the plant. Complying with established job safety practices, policies and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment.

Conducting inspections of in-process finished product using identified quality procedures including monitoring, measuring, and recording. Performing routine production functions necessary to operate the production, quality and distribution to meet customer specifications while minimizing downtime and spoilage.

Understanding and utilizing production specifications, including product, quality, and packaging specifications, Taking appropriate corrective action throughout entire set up.

Cross-training into other departments and into higher skill blocks within BWAY Corp.

Working with Husky 500, and several other Husky Injection mold machines. Single, dual, and quad cavities, Distributing pails, and covers.

Responsible and accountable for

Maintaining processes on 18 injection molding machines and various decorating and automation equipment.

Processing new products, Responsible for machine start up and shut down. I lead changeover activities (color, temperature, molds, tooling).

Finding countermeasures for problems interdepartmental as well as at customer.

Insist in making recommendations to tooling to help speed up changeovers and increase cycle times and overall efficient.

Visual:

Checking for excess flash around lip of pail/covers.

Checking for short shots, Angel hair, air bubbles, defects in general.

Cracked or dipped sprues.

Decompression blow back from resin on part.

Failed or defected labeling from HTL/Hot stamp.

Process Technician/Injection Mold - CKS Packaging Inc. Pet Plant, Atlanta, GA 09/14-01/15

Job Synopsis

Processing Husky, Sidel, Aoki and Milacron Injection Machines. We are primarily involved with first step/reheat Injection.

Repair of auxiliary equipment, repair of face PM, cleaning of cowlicks.

Troubleshooting mold close faults, oven torque faults, preform transfer faults, infeed wheel jams, preform elevator jams, etc.

Responsible and accountable for:

I’m responsible for S.Q.F. in every aspect and area of shift, cleaning all conveyors, Cleaning Bagger from dust and debris.

Responsible for producing preforms with 16 to 48 mold cavities. I am operating Sidel Injection producing up to 7000 bottles per hour (BPM).

Responsible for providing correct preforms into hopper/machine.

Ensuring all supplies is placed in appropriate area.

Making sure line clearances are done from all previous mold changes and or order changes.

The line and downstream equipment areas are swept, mopped, sanitized and cleaned before starting production, free from any oil or unsafe hazard’s.

Ensuring all tools and parts have been removed. Conveyor, leak detectors pack table or bagger is in place and properly set up. Glass and brittle plastic inspection, Correct packaging materials are staged at the line for use.

Sealing surface, paneling/wall variation.

Weight, Color Labels, Checking packaging to Spec sheet (box, bag, label info, pattern).

Certified class four fork lift, loading/unloading Gaylord’s from trailors.

Verify correct set-up of molds, presses and auxiliary equipment before machine start up.

Establish proper molding conditions. Obtain mold approval at the appropriate time.

Assist with the set-up and maintenance of auxiliary equipment, including granulators, conveyors, liquid temperature controls, and mold electrical controls.

Make minor repairs to machines and equipment and notify proper personnel of necessary major repairs.

Assist Mold Attendants as time permits and help relieve other Molding Technicians for breaks and fills in during personnel shortages.

Assist Supervisor with training programs for new employees.

Responsible and accountable for:

Achieving adequate production levels, maintaining the expected product quality, and keeping area clean and in order.

Responsible for the regular and periodic monitoring of product for acceptable quality to the most recent specification.

Maintain records and prepare legible reports, including SPC reports(Statistical process control), QC inspection reports, housekeeping checklists, mold cavity data sheets, production downtime reports, cycle time sheets and problem/corrective action logs, etc. accordance with departmental standards and Quality System Standards.

Observe all safety and environmental procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.

Work with limited supervision and maintain an atmosphere of cooperation among and between shifts, mold repair shop, quality control, and management to facilitate departmental goals.

Cool Blue Technician- InterfaceFlor Inc., Lagrange Ga 08/11–10/12

Operator for Cool Blue, using overhead crane to dump fiber glass into hopper, that allows the use of vinyl backing and fiber tile reclaimed through ReEntry. The process is fueled by methane gas captured at a local landfill and reduces the dependence on petroleum based raw materials. Also calling this lean manufacturing, Interface is a 100% recyclable plant.

Qualifications

Knowledge of processes and chemistry used in carpet tile manufacturing.

Coursework demonstrating knowledge of Thermodynamics, Chemical reaction kinetics, Process Control Systems, Chemical Phase and Reaction Equilibria, and mass energy transport.
