My work varied from day-to-day that often consisted of preparing and typing correspondence, answering the telephone, performing internet searches and receiving and sending faxes. I assisted with new hire interviews, orientations and paperwork and conducting staff meetings. I greeted and assisted those who visited the administrative building. I checked the itinerant and part-time staff’s timesheets for accuracy and submitted to payroll. I maintained meetings and events in Microsoft Outlook.

All correspondence was prepared in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or FileMaker Pro. I am proficient in the Microsoft suite, performed a high volume of data entry, basic bookkeeping daily and verified invoices for payment.

I was responsible for answering the phone, retrieving voice messages, sending and responding to email.

I ordered office supplies, audio-visual equipment and instruments; received, verified, distributed and restocked inventory. I processed requests for audio-visual equipment from City workers and outside entities using our facilities. I was instrumental in coordinating in-service workshops, registering staff for out-of-district workshops and conferences, made lunch and dinner reservations for over 200 students and staff and other department events and coordinated transportation for in-state and out-of-state trips.

I provided support and troubleshooting to the school system of more than 3,000 teachers and support staff, various departments of the City of New Haven and the community at large that included local colleges, universities and healthcare facilities.
