Academic Projects:
FEA Analysis of Cargo Crane in Abaqus
The objective was to understand the effect of 10kN load applied at the crane tip. This project involved modelling of crane structure, assigning material and section properties, mesh the structure using beam element, assign the boundary conditions apply the load at the crane tip, create steps and perform the FEA analysis.
Crash test simulation on a square tube using Abaqus
A Crash Test on Square Tube of 75X75X350 mm and 2 mm thickness was carried out. The square tube with Upper and Lower Plates (90X90mm) was modelled in Abaqus. Lower Plate was fixed and its 6DOF were constrained. Whereas the Upper Plate was allowed to move only in a Z direction. Its other 5 DOF were constrained. The assembly meshed with Shell type of elements. Abaqus was used as a solver and post-processer to view the results of a crash simulation.
Thermal Stress Analysis in Abaqus
Using the example of a fibre embedded in an epoxy/matrix, similar to what would be found in composite materials, a 158 degree temperature change is applied, simulating cooldown after composite laminate manufacture in an autoclave. The visualisation shows the stress concentrations at the boundaries between the different materials as a result of the mismatch between the expansion coefficients.
Structural Analysis of a Skid Frame using Hypermesh & Optistruct
The objective of this project was to know whether the designed skid frame is capable of supporting the weight of the components mounted on it.
Dynamic Analysis of a Car Airbag using Hypermesh and Abaqus (In progress)
The objective of this project is to carry out the dynamic analysis of an airbag using Hypermesh and Abaqus.
