Laboratory Engineering Manager, R&D.

Responsible for management and maintenance of the Product Development R&D Laboratory facilities with a 2.5 million dollar annual budget and 29 subordinates.

Operated 4 years with an excellent department safety record.

Managed the day to day operation of 29 subordinates which include Mechanical & Chemical Engineers, Electronic Techs, Certified Appliance Techs and Master Model Makers (machinists).

Write and maintain specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new and existing Lab facilities and test equipment and test instrumentation.

Coordinate and conduct training on new and existing laboratory facilities, test equip. and instrumentation.

Exclusively managed the planning, budgeting, assignments, training of all R&D Lab personnel.

Develop and administer an Inventory Control, for the Product Development laboratory. This includes an

Inventory Control for compressed gases including calibration gases ($12,000 annual savings).

Developed and administered fuels blending for FVIR facility (summer blend to winter blend).

Shared technical information, SOPs and coordinated training for Lab in Nuevo Laredo, MX.

Managed procurement of all Lab facilities supplies, contractor bids, purchase orders and contract work.

Continuous improvement with the implementation of QA/QC with all measuring devices and data storage to assure compliance with audit agencies such as UL, CSA, ISO17025, ANCI & etc, which resulted in excellent audit results.

SPC has been implemented for the following Lab instrumentation:

Reid Vapor Pressure, Gas Chromatograph (natural, propane & 1400BTU gases), N0x analyzers, & power conditioning.

The Lab consists of three controlled atmosphere rooms. With capabilities of +/- 1 F and 0.5% humidity.

CTI BIOFUELS & CTI PETROLEUM 5/2007- 3/2009

Manager of the CTI Biofuels and CTI Petroleum Analytical and R&D Laboratory. Provided primary interface with the Facilities Management Department for the maintenance of laboratory mechanical systems including fume hoods, HVAC systems and special laboratory environmental rooms.

Developed and implemented a Laboratory QA/QC Program for an environmental analytical laboratory to support a 225 mgd-wastewater treatment facility.

Responsible for the start up of a new lab facility for the QA/QC of the wastewater plant as well as analyses for the industrial waste pretreatment program.

Duties included industrial hygiene/safety, maintaining DI/RO lab water purification system, instrumentation air, conditioned power & chemical fume hood monitoring/maintenance.

Responsible for preventive maintenance of all laboratory instrumentation as well as procurement for field service and engineering/PM contracts.

Developed and implemented a Laboratory Safety Plan.
