Ome6500 uses OSRP (Optical Signaling and Routing Protocol) for sharing network topology and optimal route calculation for a SNC (Sub-Network Connections). A SNC is a collection of one or more optical network paths that routes optical traffic. I have been involved in OSRP development and features enhancements for Ome6500. ARICENT 2006 – 2009 Senior Software Engineer ARICENT is one of the leading Telecom companies in the world with over 250 customers that include all the major Telecommunications companies including Vodafone, Ericsson, AT&T, Motorola, Nokia Siemens Networks and Juniper Networks. I was involved with projects in SS7 Technologies including Tekelec EAGLE STP for mobile networks. SS7 is a high speed telephony signaling protocols, which is used to set up and tear down mobile calls. It also performs Number Translation, Local Number Portability, prepaid billing, Short Message Service (SMS), and other mass market services. I was responsible for high-level designing, low-level designing, coding and testing of the project.

HUGHES 2004 – 2006 Software Engineer

Hughes was founded in Maryland USA in 1971 is a major Telecom Service Provider to all the major Telecommunications companies in the world. I worked on various projects on GSM Network Technology including key GSM Network nodes MSC (Mobile Switching Center) and BSC (Base Station Controller). I worked on Alcatel MxBSC which manages the radio resources for multiple BTSs. It also handles radio channel setup, frequency hopping, and calls handovers. The BSC is the connection between the mobile and the MSC. MSC is the primary service delivery node for GSM/CDMA, responsible for routing voice calls, MMS and SMS as well as other services such as call switching and mobility management functions for roaming mobile phones using interaction with HLR and VLR databases. I was involved in high-level designing, low-level designing, coding and testing of the project.
