Senior Software Engineer Backend Order Processing System

Key software developer supporting new development and maintenance for Siebel 8.2 Backoffice Order Processing system using Java, Oracle, XML, XSL, MQ-Series, SQL, PL/SQL, log4j, Crystal Reports and interfacing with other I.T. systems (Retek Merchandising System, HSN.com, Data Warehouse, Order Fulfillment System and PeopleSoft) within HSN.

Performed several enhancements to SQL queries, Procedures, Views, and packages to support new functionality and requirements from the business. This also included the creation and enhancements to Crystal Reports.

Represented Back Office Order Processing team in cross-functional I.T. projects and worked with business partners from different areas including Finance, Supply Chain/Logistics, Credit and Customer Service.

Presented findings and made recommendations to management. Coordinated and provided production support in 24x7 rotations to resolve any key issues and minimize impact to customers and to meet daily SLA’s.

oExpansion of size of Order Number: Led a small team of developers to analyze, evaluate and modify more than 80 components (Java, SQL queries and procedures, Crystal Reports) in order to support the expansion of the size for the order number information in HSN to 10 digits. These changes allowed HSN to prepare for future order growth.

oIntegration for Replacements of Check Payment System: Responsible for supporting the integration and implementation to replace the legacy Check processing payment system in InfoScore for new SYMCO software. This was a very stable and successful implementation that increased the productivity of end users. This led to reduction in resources from a team of about 8 to 3 resources.

Successfully implemented other key projects in the company and played key role in the Back Office Order Processing System for analysis, design and development:

oUSPS EZReturns: Handling of customer returns, which brought company high revenue annually.

oOrder Value Promotion: Promotional offers and incentives to attract new customers and generate revenue.

oGiftBox project: Gift any order in a box, which brought company approx. $1.5M in annual revenue.

Worked with a team of consultants to assist HSN with their system conversion from their legacy system ‘CLUB’ by performing review, analysis, ‘decomposition’, evaluation and documenting of processes and functionality.

Responsible for the analysis, design, coding, testing and implementation of Check Processing, Check Register, Maintenance Processes, and EOD’s for the backend Order Processing system.

Developed and tested processes to create General Ledger (GL) transaction files for the Finance department. Responsible for developing converters in Java that create GL transactions and documenting how each GL transaction was created from the selected data. Maintain and test all modifications to the GL process.

Worked as a Consultant for HSN supporting them with documenting and tracking their issues with their Call Center application written in a proprietary language GT-X that interfaced to an IBM Mainframe.
