**** – 2008 Owner of Ladies Better Label Consignment Shop, Tequesta, Florida

Function: All normal functions of an owner; bookkeeping, monthly accounting, banking, employee hiring, firing, bottom line decisions on what inventory to accept/reject, issuing monthly checks to my 250 – 300 consignors, dealing with the public and the consignors.

In 2007 I purchased a state of the art computer system to replace that which existed when I purchased the business. New software capable of producing meaningful daily management reports was added as well. I developed a system of transition from the old software to the new. This was a challenging exercise demanding significant problem solving ability, patience and perseverance. The outcome was quite successful as I than enjoyed a system with integrated management tools proving to be of great value to me as the owner, and a more user friendly system with greater functionality for my staff and consignors.

The business was closed in March of 2008 as there were family health matters to be addressed. Several ladies wished to purchase it from me, however the rent was too high and the commercial landlord would not agree to reduce the rent for a new owner.

I enjoyed the time I had the business, learned a lot about retail and in particular “consignment” retail, and look back with satisfaction on a job well done.

2010 – 2013 Obtained Florida 215 Insurance license (Life, Health, and Variable Annuities).

During this time I worked with AmeriLife & Health Service, Federal Financial Group and Value Teachers as a 1099 insurance associate. AmeriLife and Health encompassed Medicare supplements, Medicare Advantage Plans, critical care plans, hospital indemnity plans, Long Term Care, and Annuities with the target market being Medicare eligible individuals; Federal Financial’s flagship product was Indexed Universal Life structured with emphasis on the financial side of the policy with the aim being to develop a large cash component within the policy. Our market focus was owners of small businesses. Value Teachers focused on sales of 403b’s to teachers (retirement plans) within designed school systems as allotted by the company.

I departed Federal Financial to take a paid hourly position with Convey Health Solutions.

September, 2013 – December 7th, 2013

Employed by Convey Health Solutions, Ft. Pierce, Florida, as a Customer Care Specialist for the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period, October 15 – December 7th. This was a seasonal job which ended December 7, 2013.

April, 2014 – August, 2014

I worked by phone from my home during this time for PH Capital, Colorado Springs, Colorado. My function was to call Financial Advisors at Wells Fargo and Merrill Lynch, endeavoring to set appointments for them to meet with Complex Managers of either Morgan Stanley or UBS. The object, if they were qualified, was recruiting them for employment at Morgan Stanley or UBS. I was successful in setting many meetings for my boss, translating into opportunities for him to earn large recruitment fees.

September 2014 – December 20, 2015

Employed by Convey Health Solutions, Fort Pierce, Florida, working a HumanaOne Affordable Care Act campaign for Open Enrollment which began November 15th and ended February 15th, 2015. We received two and a half months training beforehand. This was the first re-enrollment season since the inception of The Affordable Care Act. I worked on the phone as a Customer Care Specialist, a licensed agent (215 license) helping those who were already Humana members determine if they wished to keep their 2014 health insurance coverage for 2015, or choose another plan. I reviewed members’ plans, compared them to other plans available for 2015, discussed ramifications of the deductibles, maximum out of pockets, co-pays, coinsurance, made changes in their selection of doctors, etc. When they wished to change plans I enrolled them in a new plan. I also terminated plans for members where necessary, answered billing questions, changed billing methods, took payments, and transferred clients to the Federal Marketplace for additional assistance when necessary. This was a rewarding position and I succeeded in helping many individuals and families to obtain suitable health care coverage which they could afford due to the subsidies offered by the Affordable Care Act. This was gratifying since health care and the accompanying financial issues are very important factors in the lives of most people in America today.

December 20th, 2015 – Present

Independent Sales Representative for Neptune Society, a pre-need cremation organization.

I am employed by the Legacy Division which offers informational seminars at restaurants in Jensen Beach, Port Saint Lucie, and Vero Beach. The attendees learn about Neptune, who Neptune Society is, what they do, and how they do it. No selling is transacted at the “Lunch and Learn Seminars”. Home appointments are set at the end of the events for those who wish to complete a plan and become Neptune Society members. I have enrolled many individuals and couples into Neptune Society Plans, helping them feel secure that their “end of life” plans are in place. I greatly enjoy working with Neptune Society due to being instrumental in giving clients assurance their loved ones will be spared the turmoil of making final arrangements for them, at a very emotional time in their lives.
