Responsibilities:

• Led a department of engineers, consultants, and sales professionals to provide infrastructure deployment and support services to public school districts. Accomplishments:

• Expanded Internet services, consulting, managed services, and product sales from

$2 million to $14 million revenue representing 50% of the economic activity of TIES.

• Modernized Internet infrastructure from a small base of frame relay connections up to 75 sites on 1Gb and 10Gb dark fiber links. Pushed an aggregate of 12Gb/s of Internet bandwidth to districts covering 45% of the public school students in Minnesota.

• Boosted network equipment and computer equipment sales from $1 million to

$10 million annual revenue.

Responsibilities:

• a) Led advanced technology and future product research, particularly into wireless metropolitan area networks, wireless local area networks and dual-mode WiFi/Cellular systems.

• b) Managed technology and new product planning and design for Onvoy IP systems and telecommunications products

Accomplishments:

• Piloted a team of senior architects and engineers in the development of advanced converged services infrastructure improving the capacity and reliability of service networks.

• Renovated core network to dual Cisco 7600 router/switches and deployed a new centralized multi-tenant firewall system.

Responsibilities:

• Guided and counseled clients with their strategic network and information technology planning, design and construction.

Accomplishments:

• Authored an inter-agency Enterprise Architecture for the State of Minnesota including inter-agency participation and a permanent governance structure to maintain it. This was on the tail of 10 years of previous stalled attempts.

• Co-managed the strategic planning exercise for a large regional telecommunications company that resulted in the refocusing of their direction into new lines of business in integrated communications and IP telephony.

• Designed and presented an upgrade and modernization plan for a large multi-site network at a national auto glass service company

Accomplishments:

• Originated and managed the transition from informal association to nonprofit incorporated status. Assembled a board of directors, set strategic direction, set up an operational office, and made recommendations to the Board for policy decisions.

• Expanded the corporation in size, scope, and reputation over 6 years from a $90,000 single person project to a $5,000,000 45 person corporation that overwhelmingly dominated its regional market as an Internet Service Provider.

• Deployed an extensive statewide high-performance IP network backbone and customer access subsystem from the Twin Cities to Duluth, Rochester, St Cloud, Moorhead and Marshall by leveraging infrastructure and partnerships with major state organizations.

• Initiated community outreach and public policy development efforts for education technology and Internet development in Minnesota
