EXPERIENCE

OWENS CORNING SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY CENTER, GRANVILLE, OH (APRIL 2014 – DECEMBER 2015) CONTRACT

Performed testing using Instron Bluehill 3 software and laboratory equipment for material characterization and reporting

Generated data and recorded testing information using (LIMS) Laboratory information Management System

Prepared specimens of composite materials per ASTM and ISO standards testing using equipment within the MCL Preparation Lab (band saw, wet saw, sander, Izod notcher, tensile jig fixture, and muffle furnace)

Performed density testing, loss of ignition, short beam shear testing, permeability, void content, acid wash, flex testing, using ASTM standards

Setup Instron fixtures for afore mentioned tests

DUPONT, HILLIARD, OH - (JULY 2012 – AUGUST 2013) CONTRACT

Operation of extrusion machines to produce powder coating paints

Loading paint chemical batches into extruders

Working with quality control lab to maintain quality product and specifications in paints produced from extruders

Maintaining extruder parameters of operation and teardown between batches of products to clean extruder

Maintenance on all machines in plant

Monthly preventative maintenance checks on machinery

Fix broken machines when called upon from machine operators

Fabrication of some parts when needed that were not on hand or that could not be ordered for instance a set of metal stairs

CTL ENGINEERING INC., COLUMBUS, OH (JULY 2007) INTERN

Accompanied structural engineers to job sites and observed Ultrasonic testing of welds related to structural steel

Assisted engineers with testing of full penetration welds on aluminum beams, which were being implemented in supports for MRI units avoiding use of steel which would have interfered with the electronics of the units

Inspected using the oscilloscope and transducers, verifying the welds to AWS codes and standards

Performed visual inspection of some welds where code didn’t require ultrasonic testing

Checked tension control bolts and various other bolts for snug tight or other requirements depending on the code for that application

Inspection in welds of aluminum beams identified defects though ultrasonic testing

UNIVERSITY PROJECT WORK

EFFECT OF WELDING POWER SUPPLY DESIGN ON SMAW ELECTRODES, SPONSORED BY EUROWELD

Ohio State University Senior Project (September 2006 - June 2007)

Group leader of three person team assigned to develop a proposal analyzing the effect of welding power supply design on SMAW electrodes, using AWS A5.5 standards

Performed experimentation using various power sources and data analysis

Presented project summary to co-owner providing poster and final report recommending change in codes and standards

Communicated weekly with co-owner on project progress
