Primarily my experience has been Heavy Civil/Commercial Construction with assignments of increasing responsibilities such as: Superintendent, Lead Field Engineer Civil, Assistant Superintendent, Safety Manager, Owner’s Representative, Field QA/QC, Civil/Structural Field Engineer, and Field Engineer (Surveyor),. Currently I am Superintendent for the Riyadh Metro Project. Some of my assignments required that I oversee/supervise 900 employees on several projects simultaneously. Other assignments have included: Airport, Rail, Air Bases, Roadways, Bridges, Highways, Oil & Gas Pipeline Launcher/Receiver Stations, Infrastructure and Commercial (Airport/Rail Terminals, Hospitals, Sports Complex, Commercial Buildings, and Retail Stores) construction. Construction Superintendent/Self performing for a Civil Rail Project including overseeing the Laydown Yard, all Heavy Equipment (trucks/trailers, dump trucks, cranes/rigging equipment, track/wheel excavators, loaders, back hoes, skidsteers, generators, light towers, boom trucks, air compressors, welding machines, forklifts/telehandlers) coordinating the receiving, storage, delivering of materials, consumables, fabrication shops (carpentry, welding, electrical), and laborforce management for 16 Deep Underground Multi Storied Stations. Coordinating with Trucking Company for haul-off of excavated materials. Act as liason between field and management team. As Superintendent responsible for all aspect of field activities, input of the Work Packages, Methods Statements, JHA’s, documentation of all activities, ordering, and scheduling of materials, and oversee all placement of all temporary and permanent works. Enforcement, and scheduling of Inspection Testing, Surveys, Daily Reports, Photographs, perform continuous quality assurance inspections to confirm compliance with the contract document requirements. Work with the Safety Department to maintain project safety; assist in the resolution of contractor/design issues through communication of facts to all parties. Reviews and approves contractors Request for Excavation Permits, work related Method of Statements and Job Hazard Analysis. Ensures required work permits and licenses are in place prior to the start of the affected work at site. Superintendent direct responsibilities include Direct Hire supervision of day-to-day operations of all construction site activities, and an International workforce of 400 men constructing and excavating on a 2.5 mile section of Tramway along active thorofares, water, and power in downtown Dubai, UAE. Superintendent responsible of Contractor(s) field activities related for Site preparation including earthworks and construction of civil and structural works, & coordinate work with local and international contractors. Involved in in constructability site meetings to optimize overall project schedule by improving construction methods, receiving / storage logistics and safety in work place.

Analyzes project IFC drawings and plan to determine what construction problems are involved; take note of any evidence of deviation from accepted project specification. Ensures the most current design documentation is being utilized to complete civil construction activities.

Communicate reviews and takes any action required on material lists, requisitions, and delivery schedules, construction equipment, automotive and tool requirements, labor requirements, work schedules. Submits daily & weekly reports highlighting progress and problems.

Ensures the Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into all aspects of construction operations. Attends site safety tool box talk and safety start card on daily basis as well as attends weekly safety zero accident team meetings. Reviews and approves contractors Request for Excavation Permits, work related Method of Statements and Job Hazard Analysis. Ensures required work permits and licenses are in place prior to the start of the affected work at site

Performs daily site walk-downs to observe work progress; investigates evidence of substandard job performance, deviations from design specifications or construction schedule; determines the causes of such circumstances; and initiates and follows up corrective actions; make sure that all personnel are following the proper safety guidelines, and performing works as outlined in the JHA’s. Schedule and directs the sequence of work for several crews of related crafts operating within the area.

Responsible for the RFI’s, review of daily progress, ordering of materials, concrete, equipment, inspections, and overseeing every aspect of the field. Work continually with the Safety Department to maintain project safety, and implementing rewards programs and training to assure a safe jobsite. Responsible for cost coding, continual communication / coordination with all subcontractors, resolution of subcontractor conflicts, the engineering team, and the Construction, Safety and Quality Control Managers. Worked with close to no supervision. Superintendent oversight responsibilities include compliance enforcement with municipalities’ of Dubai, OSHA and Host Country Safety Regulations as well as quality control enforcement to ensure construction is in accordance with the Contract requirements.

Saudi Arabia Project responsibilities evolved from overseeing an International workforce of 250 men to full control of an International workforce of 1200 men by tracking, scheduling, supplying, coding of time, and dispatching of all workers according to workload requirements. Also reviewing of pay applications for 5 Labor Force Suppliers, and 500 full time company employees giving final sign off.

As job progressed was also responsible for 4 Concrete Pumps and crews while ordering, and overseeing all placements of concrete on 6 projects, for an International Airport while working 2 shifts through the Hot Weather Concrete Placements.
