Chief Engineer – Dynamometer Testing Systems

Coordinate the design and development of high-speed Dynamometers for the Performance, Acceptance and Endurance testing of turboshaft engines (I.E. GE38 / T64) for commercial and military domestic and international customers.

Conduct dynamic and stress analyses of high-speed (60K rpm) rotors, carbon seals, ball and roller bearings, quill-shafts and couplings including material selection and manufacturing processes.

Responsible for Supplier Technical Support, QC part deviation reviews and dispositions. (All manufacturing is subcontracted resulting in a high volume of complex technical offsite manufacturing technical liaison.)

Supervise the assembly and Certification of Dynamometer power absorption test machines, flywheels, spindles, hydraulic power units and bearing lubrication systems.

Checked and approved all manufacturing drawings, prepare installation and instruction manuals, machine overhaul guides and machine inspection / damage analysis reports.

Support customers in the start-up, operation and maintenance of Dynamometer Test Cells for low and high speed turbines.

Supervised the Engineering Department in the design of a broad array of ball bearings for the Automotive and Aerospace industries which included APU transmission systems, airframe control bearings and specialty custom bearing assemblies.

Planned, estimated and conformed UH-60M Blackhawk A/C Testing BOEs (Basis of Estimates) to meet DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations System) audit criteria in support of FMS (Foreign Military Sales) through the USG.
