About Project

The project involves around regression of 180 L2/L3 features. The test suite included testing functionality, performance, recovery, stability and MIB testing .Automation of protocol suite using TCL/TK. IXIA was used as a traffic generator. Regression is done on entire 4K protocol family. Also we are involved in takeover from 2 vendors as part of Consolidation.

My Key Responsibilities:

Building the testbed to match the automation requirements, which involved, identifying devices to be used, placing order through cisco ordering tool, procuring the equipment’s and handing over to lab team. Building of topology and verifying the same

Test plan writing, devTesting of new features(L2/L3), Regression and Performance testing on Cat4500 Cisco switches

Integration of test cases in Regression infrastructure

Entire ownership of regression of the 2k/3k/4k family of switches and automation of the new features using TCL/TK ( CAMFEX and Performance testing scripts)

Estimation, Scheduling, Resource planning, tracking, ensuring process compliance and on-time delivery

SLA tracking, metric planning

About Product

Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series switches are designed for Enterprise wiring closets, branch offices and Layer 3 distribution points. The catalyst 4500 series is comprised of a series of chassis which support three choices of Supervisor Engines and an extensive set of line cards including high density, 10/100,10/100/1000 (both with 802.3af Power over Ethernet Options), 100-FX, and 1000BASE-X. It is also optimized for business services aggregation and subscriber access in metropolitan area for network operators and service providers.

About Project

This project strives in testing all L2/L3 Protocols, MIB’s and traps supported by Catalyst 4000 series across various images. This project involves manual testing, compliance testing, performance testing, automation and regression testing for L2/L3 Protocols, MIB’s and traps supported by Catalyst 4000 series switches using SNMP commands.

Description:
