Career Focus

After graduating from the College of Western Idaho with an AAS in Electronics Technology, worked for 1 year for an automation company. I want to continue working in the electronics field with automation or instrumentation, or explore other opportunities such as electrician work.

Learned through electronics program at CWI: electronics fundamentals, DC and AC theory, analog and digital electronics, Programmable Logic Controllers training and Automated systems P&ID systems. Flow-Data Inc – Dickinson, ND

Oil and gas – automation on well sites. Installed and maintained PADPro system which controlled the automation of the well site, including tank levels, pressure set points, flow-rate, temperature, and running status. MODBUS communications (RS-232 and RS 485) Set up running configurations for the Scadapack with the PROVue application. Reported daily to my regional manager from the field and worked from a remote office. Worked with electricians in installation of conduit, wiring, trenching and utilization of hardware. Close contact with customers daily, and frequent travel to sites for troubleshooting or installation. Our system had full automation over well sites, including the ability to safely shut in the well if safety set points were breached, and the ability to remotely connect to a well over the internet to troubleshoot problems or get data for host trending.

I had a significant background in electronics technology and theory before enrolling in CWI. I was stationed in Wiesbaden Germany, and 1 tour of duty in Iraq, in Camp Victory.
