• I've handled multiple territories and categories of our business for clients that have an interest in utilizing software and the Internet to build their business. This could have included custom software, iOS/Android apps, website development/management, digital magazines/catalogs/brochures/books and other types of documents. I worked with these clients to build a strategy that will accomplish their goals. Some of the popular goals were to add new capabilities to their business, increase ad revenue, increase reader engagement/circulation, and create robust marketing and digital solutions.

BANTA PUBLICATIONS GROUP, Liberty, MO

1995 - 2006

• A $70 million printing company focusing on small to medium run magazine

• Department Manager / Sales & Product Development 2002 - 2006

• Developed a value added Internet/web department building magazine/catalogs web sites for publishers to differentiate the company from other printing companies and turned it into a profit center. This department was similar to a small company within a large corporation. My role included conception of the department, project management, sales, quoting/estimating projects, programming, customer service, server hardware/software, and at times, all other roles.

• All projects would go through me for sales, project approval, quoting/estimating, billing, and project management.

• Increased Internet department revenues/profits by 50% for five straight years while retaining print customers.

• Developed an online digital magazine to complement the publishers printed magazines and to assist with distribution overseas. This program eliminated shipping/printing cost for the customer by a minimum of $3 per magazine as well as improved lead time from 1 - 6 weeks to less a day, and improved quality of the final product reducing returns and complaints. Tools utilized were Flash, SQL, ASP, JavaScript, ASP.NET and various others. • Automated a portion of the digital magazine, increasing profits to 70 - 80% per project. Tools utilized were VB.NET and improvements in SQL.

• Created a magazine /catalog design department for publishers to outsource design and layout which increased revenue within the department 50% and reduced potential quality issues throughout the rest of the facility. Also assisted in customer retention. Utilized Quark, PageMaker, Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and several other tools.

• Sold Internet, print design, and digital magazines to 200+ print customers while building projects and managing a $750K budget department.

• Managed hardware and software for twelve Internet servers and twelve workstations eliminating the cost of outsourcing hardware support by $3500 per year. Software maintained on the servers were DNS, DHCP, Microsoft IIS, Microsoft SQL, email, statistics software, hardware routers, hardware firewalls, and several other pieces.

• Utilized Microsoft Access, Excel, and Visio to assist with managing projects. Utilized Microsoft Project on one project.

• Maintained a series of sites for a customer where the sites were built in ColdFusion. Modifications were made on a regular basis.
