Acts as a Deputy In-charge of the Microbiology Department. Responsible in monitoring turn-around time of all procedures and ensuring that all results as accurate and precise and delivered to our clients on time. Works closely with Infectious Disease physicians and Attending Doctors addressing the queries on antimicrobial susceptibility testing.

Oversees the different Sections in Microbiology, e.i. Bacteriology Bench, Stool Analysis and Urine Analysis Area, Microscopy Area, Serology area Immunofluorescence (For Anti Nuclear Antibody) area and culture specimen processing area. Ensuring that all issues, pre-analytical, analytical and post analytical are addressed and settled as soon as possible.

Prepares Monthly Roster for Microbiology Department and conducts monthly Performance Evaluation of the staff keeping them abreast of their KPIs.

Prepares and submit monthly departmental reports and statistics to the laboratory manager. Reviews QCs of all procedures in Serology, Urine Analysis, Stool Analysis, and Bacteriology Bench and prepares the monthly Levy Jennings report and analysis.

Conducts training and orientation to new personnel.

Maintains inventory levels of supplies and reagents. Works with all the supplier in bringing in new products and conducts evaluation and correlation tests. Raises Purchase Requisitions procures reagents and supplies using SAP System.

Accomplishes daily benchwork e.i. reading of plates for an average of 250 patients or specimen,preparation of inoculum for Vitek 2xl and for Kirby Bauer Method of Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing.

Performs Identification of isolates using various APIs, biochemical testings, and phenotypic typing.

Operates, troubleshoots and perform maintenance of various Laboratory equipments e.i Vitek2 Sytem, Bactec Machines,Clinitec Advantus, IF Microspcope, Centrifuge, Incubators, Waterbath, Autoclave etc.

Performs daily procedures in assign areas like Urine FEME using Clinitec Advantus Machine,Dysmorphic RBC Testing, Stool Analysis of Ova, Cysts and Parasites, Stool Occult blood both rapid testing and card method, Body Fluid Crystals, AFB Staining, Gram Staining, Antinuclear Antigen IF Testing, Direct plating and subcultures of direct culture specimen,as well as Serological procedures.
