Raised over $3.5MM to launch Major League Ultimate (MLU) which was a new professional ultimate frisbee league pioneering the sport’s culture.

Strategized a campaign to launch the MLU with a professional yet disruptive approach with the goal of bucking the trend that frisbee was a “sport for dogs” or a “not a real sport”. This campaign included web development, branding and team creation, process and procedure implementation, personnel acquisition and training and many more sub-projects necessary to launch a season. Within one year the MLU had been featured on ESPN SportsCenter Top 10 nine times in a thirteen week season and had a viral video on YouTube which got over 1.4 million views. This attention surpassed almost every other tier 2 sports league in activity, many of which have been in existence for more than 15 years. Most importantly, this trend continued and improved each season. The MLU has also been featured on many other national media outlets in the US and Canada with some notable ones such as: Time Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Economist, The Washington Post, FoxSports1, CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Company) and ESPN (SportsCenter and SportsNation).

Developed a motivated, responsible, accountable and highly engaged office and company culture that drove top-level performance, team dedication and a passion for excellence. Propelled a system that, during the season employed more than 400 people in eight different markets (Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco) to target and achieve goals as a unified team.

Spearheaded the campaign for the MLU to raise sponsorship by 300% from 2014 to 2015. Focused on breaking the barrier with brand-focused companies such as Puma, Skippy Peanut Butter, Schick, Comcast, Nike Ultimate Camps, US Coachways, Fan Duel, Elemental (just acquired by Amazon) and Innova (#2 disc manufacturer in the world next to Wham-o). Created highly entertaining and simple presentations that clearly showed the ROI of the campaign while simultaneously delivering the image of the company’s work ethic, integrity and customer-focused approach.

Conceptualized and developed the MLU Fantasy Website which leveraged the fast growing fan base to offer the most highly engaged web experience ever delivered in a new professional sports league. Over 2500 users signed up with two weeks for the beta release and their engagement quickly made the MLU Fantasy experience one of the most valuable offerings in terms of sponsorships and advertising.

Pioneered social media campaign which surpassed, within one year, Major League Lacrosse in social media activity and drew more viewers during a Comcast broadcast than the Philadelphia Union (MLS). Collaborated with social media and marketing experts from across the nation to harness the expertise needed to unleash the potential that ultimate frisbee and the MLU contained.
