Other employment history includes work in 186 bed long term care nursing

facility (Toccoa Nursing Center) as Certified Nursing Assistant providing hands on daily living and basic care services for residents, work at 117 bed long term care nursing facility (Hart Care Center), first as Activities Director providing reality orientation, entertainment, and development oriented activities, and then as Social Services Director, providing intake and placement coordination services, progress and status reporting, liaison between facility administration and Resident’s Council and families of residents, assistance with acquisition of services such as physical therapy, etc. where residents may have special needs, coordination with Ga. Ombudsman’s program to investigate any report of possible neglect or abuse of a resident or misuse of benefit funds.

Additionally, during my high school and part of my college years, I worked through the Job Training Partnership Act serving in the Day Treatment Program of the local Mental Health Center assisting in the provision of activities for the clients of the Day Treatment program at that time, and through what was then known locally as the MH/MR program working with developmentally disabled persons, both in provision of activities and supporting the supervisory staff of what was then termed a ‘sheltered workshop’.
