Pipefitter, Misc. September 2007 to Present
PM, process & equipment troubleshooting, production / facility support in a high-speed, high-volume FDA regulated facility.
Proposed / produced multiple upgrade / update projects for (HP) plant steam distribution and condensate return systems. Focus on improving delivery and return with increased reliability and control. Heavy emphasis on reducing energy losses (flash steam) through more efficient utilization and recovery.
Developed and maintain facility-wide steam trap (400+ devices), condensate return pump and steam PRV databases utilizing Microsoft Excel / Access. Service, rebuild and conduct annual survey of same.
Successfully championed initiative to replace aging electro-mechanical condensate return pump packages with energy efficient steam-driven ‘pumping traps’, where appropriate. Ongoing with excellent results.
Identified opportunities for fresh water conservation / improved utilization in automated wash processes. Produced cost effective solutions for same. Efforts realized an 85% reduction (2M gallons/year) in the affected processes.
Appointed 3rd shift ‘Lead Person’ (hourly position) performing as alternate for (salaried) front-line supervision on an as-needed basis. Responsible for coordinating, allocating and dispatching multiple crafts for maximum effect.
ATCO Enterprises Xenia, OH
Machine Repair/Pipefitter December 2006 to August 2007
Installation, re-fit, modification and de-bug of various customer supplied equipment and processes. (i.e.: chilled water, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.).
Delphi-Harrison Thermal Products Moraine, OH
Equipment & Construction November 1997 to December 2006
Tech/Pipefitter
Primary fluid power technician for an array of Verson 400 -1400 ton mechanical punch presses. Overhauled all drive-train / stock feed / de-coiler lubrication, connection overload and counterbalance systems. Participated in several major component tear down / re-build projects on same.
Troubleshot, disassembled, serviced and installed lubrication systems (Lubriquip / Trabon & Lincoln ‘CentraMatic), pneumatics and hydraulics on numerous equipment lines, machining centers and automated assembly operations.
Implemented facility-wide steam trap survey encompassing 1100 devices. Created tracking database w/ Microsoft Excel / Access.
Identified multiple, process-related sources of uncontrolled waste water generation. Efforts realized a documented annual savings in excess of 23M gallons.
Support QA test cells. Installed split chilled water / heat sink cooling system; including circulators, modulating control valves, plate and frame heat exchanger and heat sink storage tank.
Served as ‘per diem’ skilled trade supervisor for 30+ direct-report pipefitters. Charged with care and oversight of general plant mechanical systems.
Chrysler-Dayton Thermal Products Dayton, OH
Equipment Technician/Pipefitter September 1995 to November 1997
