WORK DETAIL:

GREENE, TWEED & COMPANY:

Global design, engineering & manufacturing company with annual revenues of $361m globally and $96m out of the Houston location. I began as Manufacturing Manager in 1994 with responsibility over the machine shop, assembly, electrical assembly, production control, methods, purchasing, accounting, inventory, shipping, receiving, and information systems.

In the early years, the Houston facility was operating in the absence of routings, bills of material, or MRP/ERP software. My previous experience with such tools allowed for my creation of a Methods/Production Engineering department to manage the creation and maintenance of proper routings and bills for legacy parts and new part number adds.

My understanding and management of manufacturing processes and software systems initiated a shift out of the Manufacturing Manager role and into ongoing systems analysis and support. Further in this direction, I was selected and assigned to a twelve-member core team charged to map, re-engineer, document, and implement new business processes across all operating divisions of the corporation. The net result was a successful globally-integrated implementation of SAP ERP software.

The acquisition of SAP in 1999 prompted a transition into a niche role bridging the gap between Manufacturing and IT. Titles varied, but responsibilities continuously revolved around process development and support leveraging SAP across the global enterprise. Industries served include Aerospace, Defense, Industrial, Petrochemical, Solar & Power, Medical, Oil Field, and Semiconductor markets. Over the past few years, my global SAP Specialist role focused on data mining in support of Lean Six Sigma initiatives and Data Driven Decisions through the definition, creation, and presentation of ever-evolving performance metrics on our global dashboards.

MAXXIM MEDICAL:

Responsible to the President for the direction and daily management of all areas of manufacturing for the 30 million dollar Henley Healthcare division of Maxxim Medical. Operating areas included Assembly, Production Testing, Quality Assurance, and Drafting/Documentation including FDA compliance.

As an organization driven heavily by vertical integration, my responsibilities included the timely and profitable absorption of acquired companies and products into our facility every six months, on the average. This required the integration of materials, BOM’s, drawings, and FDA compliance documentation into our structure and the physical relocation, or replacement, of personnel and equipment.

Accomplishments include: Successfully reducing finished goods, WIP, and raw inventory levels by eliminating low volume/low margin products and by consistently incorporating function and features of multiple product models into reduced or single product offerings, thus allowing for faster dock-to-stock time and often reducing headcount; Implementing unused portions of QAD manufacturing software to allow improved planning and inventory, space, and cost reductions through JIT/MRPII philosophies; Setting up and organizing a drafting/documentation department ensuring document control and engineering disciplines; Establishing manufacturing disciplines such as MRB, material disposition, incoming, and online inspection; Authoring manufacturing, production test, QC and QA test, and acceptance procedures; Establishing production scheduling techniques in an un-forecasted product environment.

BURNETT PERSONNEL:

Accountable to the President and Vice President for business plans, direction, and daily management of a stand-alone profit center which offered search and recruiting of electronics and data-processing professionals to clients on a contingent and retainer basis.

Duties included: sales and marketing strategies, client development and maintenance, staffing, administration, operating procedures, financials, contract and placement negotiations, while also performing daily as an active member of my sales team.

One of my key accomplishments would be joining the company in January of 1990 to write a business plan allowing Burnett to expand into a new market. I was able to take the division through growing pains, from myself to a staff of 6, generating $900k in revenue YTD for 1990. In the last quarter of 1990, this division with lesser revenues took greater profit to the bottom line than its eleven sister divisions.

FAIRFIELD INDUSTRIES:

MANUFACTURING MANAGER - Responsible for all divisions of Manufacturing which included

Assembly, Production Test, Purchasing, Material Control, Quality Control, and Shipping & Receiving; Created and controlled production schedules, resources, and costs to ensure timely and profitable delivery of $4m radio telemetry seismic exploration computer systems.

FIELD SERVICE MANAGER - Managed the Field Service department responsible for providing support, mobilization, performance analysis, and quality/acceptance tests on seismic computer systems prior to, during, and after delivery to the client. Accomplishments include: designing, drafting, and supervising the construction of a prototype instrument cabin containing an array of computer equipment allowing for a portable seismic recording/data-processing center.

QUALITY CONTROL SUPERVISOR - Responsible for quality assurance on all components, sub-

assemblies, and final products manufactured. Influenced the daily activity and processes of

manufacturing to control costs through the improvement of product failure, rework, and reject rates.

ENGINEERING/R&D TECHNICIAN - Assisted Chief Design Engineer in the prototype design, testing, and first run production of computer-controlled seismic exploration systems. Constructed, tested, and troubleshot prototype printed circuit board designs. Conducted beta testing of system control software and revisions. Served as a technician on a two-man team responsible for the design and construction of the prototypes for the SC-86 portable Solar Charger.

SENSORMATIC ELECTRONICS:

Responsible for the South Texas region from El Paso to Orange for this manufacturing company, installing and servicing microwave surveillance systems in major retail accounts. Managed all Customer Service Engineers and Technicians to effectively handle travel, system installation, repair, and contract maintenance.

Handled customer complaints, engineer training, equipment inventory, and all preliminary visits to accounts for interface with management and building engineers concerning the mechanical, structural, and power considerations prior to installation of the equipment.

Interfaced closely with Marketing to successfully implement equipment installation.
