Objective

I am seeking a position as a senior level pharmacy technician with a progressive organization which will utilize my various acquired skills and have a positive impact on pharmacy operations.

Summary of Qualification

I have more than 15 years of combined hospital, long-term care, US Coast Guard, and civilian retail pharmacy experience. I have skills in processing and preparing prescriptions, as well as, sterile IV and PB preparations. I am resourceful and knowledgeable in aseptic and biological laboratory techniques, inventory control, drug purchasing, and keeping track of contracts and expenses. I work in a very organized and professional manner, both individually, and with others.

Professional Experience

United States Coast Guard Base National Capital Region Headquarters Pharmacy, Washington DC, 4 September 2013 through 31 July 2015.

Loyal Source Civilian Contractor, Certified Pharmacy Technician, registered with the State of Maryland.

As the only civilian pharmacy technician contracted to the USCG I ran the pharmacy under the USCG Regional Pharmacist, processing and filling prescriptions, purchasing and maintaining drug inventory, and running the USCG Over-the-Counter program. I assisted and trained USCG health services techs at other USCG clinic and ran monthly Control Substance Audit Boards. I created and maintained spreadsheets on drug transfers, OTCs, clinic & pharmacy in-house med errors, drug purchasing invoices and contract/formulary unavailability, and Army Medical Material Quality Control (MMQC) messages and recalls. I acted as a liaison between patients and their primary healthcare providers (HCP) over concerns, prescription renewals, and questions regarding their medications. Assisted HCPs with non-formulary and prior authorization paperwork with TRICARE.

Certified Pharmacy Technician, registered with the State of Maryland.

Work in small independent retail pharmacy. Process and prepare prescriptions using BestRxWin program. Maintained inventory and drug orders. Handle monetary transactions. Deliver medications to assisted living and homebound patient homes.

Capital Health Systems – Mercer Campus, Trenton, New Jersey, January 2001 to June 2009.

Certified Hospital Pharmacy Technician.

Prepared IV flushes, antibiotics, PBs, IVs, and other sterile preparations using aseptic techniques. Trained technicians and pharmacists in IV preparations. Maintained and stocked PYXIS machines and assisted nurses as a liaison with the pharmacy regarding medication issues.

Progressive advancement from Pharmacy Technician Floor Supervisor to Data Processing Supervisor (Folcroft).
