07/13-05/14 Laser Lead, Sioux Steel, Sioux Falls, SD

Supervise all operations on automated laser cell used to cut parts for farming equipment. Mitsubishi ML3015LVP laser with automated Load and Unload system. Used Merry Mechanisms to program parts to be nested. Kept track of daily performance via excel graphing.

06/12-04/13 Laser Technician, Martinrea, Springfield, TN

Repaired processing and fixturing for automotive parts being laser cut

with 5 axis systems. Used Trumpf TruLaser Cell 7040 and LaserCell

1005 with Trutops programming.

05/10-04/12 Laser Engineer, Huffman Corp., Clover, SC

Set up and programmed aircraft and power generation turbine blades for laser cladding of Inconel. Programmed both the HC-205 and HP-115L for internal and external customers. Used Cognex vision system with IPG fiber laser. Wrote procedures for calibration of the machines and programming turbine parts. Installed machines at customer sites in United States and Europe.

04/07-11/09 Laser Technician, Eagle Bend Mfg, Clinton,TN

Trouble shoot and maintain Trumpf CO2 laser cell used to cut automotive parts and frames. Made program changes as necessary. Used Solidworks to redesign fixtures.

08/04-11/06 Process Specialist, Tennessee Rand Co.Chattanooga, TN

Optimize, trouble shoot, and maintain CO2 laser used for welding of automobile seat frames. Used the Trumpf Trumascan L 4000 gantry beam delivery system with the Trumpf TLF 6000 laser and its CNC programming. Used Autocad 2002 for design. Adjusted fixturing to customer specifications. Taught laser safety classes to others involved.

09/03-8/04 Stayed with family in Milwaukee, WI to see father through cancer treatments.

02/00-8/03 Laser Engineer, Memry Corporation, Menlo Park, CA

Responsible for laser cutting the highest quality stents and medical tubular devices for production and prototypes. Used Alpha CAD/CAM package for stent cutting machinery. Assist and train technicians and operators on laser equipment. Work with management and engineering to solve problems throughout the workplace.

05/98-9/99 Manufacturing Engineer, Alliant Techsystems. Janesville, WI

Responsible for improving and maintaining welding processes for defense related weapons. Saved the company $2.5 million of product from scrap. Developed fixtures using AutoCad 98. Used CNC programming for laser cutting and welding on two new product lines. One of which was awarded a contract by the Navy and Air Force. Granted a secret clearance by the US government.

11/94-5/98 Laser Engineer, Magnecomp Corporation. Temecula,CA USA, Hong Kong, and Thailand

Implemented a new fiber optic laser system using the Lumonics Luxstar laser. This was used for the production of hard drive suspensions. Designed and implemented new fixturing and support equipment for new and existing systems. I used CAD ’95 for machine and fixture design. I was also responsible for making recommendations and approving 20 of third-generation laser systems.

These systems used in house CNC programming developed by Laserdyne. Spent 8 months in Thailand and Hong Kong training technicians on new and existing laser systems.

06/89-11/94 Laser Technician, Hutchinson Technology. Hutchinson,MN and SiouxFalls,SD

Laser welding using Lumonics JK701 and JK702 Nd:YAG lasers. This included spot, seam, tee and butt welding. Produced and analyzed weld samples to best set up the laser process for maximum efficiency. Trouble-shoot lasers and processing equipment for several welding processes.

Laser ablation using a Lumonics Excimer laser on polymer material. Wrote CNC programs, set process parameters, and designed optical delivery for many prototype and production parts. Wrote operator instruction and maintenance manuals for this new process and machine. Repaired and trouble-shoot the laser and supporting equipment.

Laser spot welded of hard disk drive suspensions. Repaired and trouble-shoot the weld process, welder, and welding equipment. Made necessary changes on the Allen-Bradley, Unidex, and GE Fanuc axis and equipment controllers. Made adjustments to the newest type of production machinery and their related fixturing. Maintained these machines for optimum performance.
