* The Oklahoma City National Memorial was authorized on October 9, 1997 but was de- authorized on January 23, 2004. However through a special agreement, a token interpretive division remains to explain the site’s salient features to about 300,000 visitors each year. The site is now a NPS affiliated area as a unit of the Chickasaw National Recreation Area of Sulphur, Oklahoma, located 75 miles to the south.
