Summary

Since college graduation, I have been involved in the drilling fluids industry approximately 39 years. I completed the IMCO Services Drilling Fluids Technology School in August 1974 and worked 1 year engineering jobs in Wyoming, Utah, North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana. I relocated to Oklahoma working in Western Oklahoma, and the Texas panhandle taking care of 20,000+- ft. jobs near Wheeler and Kelton, and Canadian, Texas, along with some jobs in the Clinton, Okla. area.

I then relocated to Ardmore, Oklahoma with Milchem, Inc. and worked the Southern Oklahoma area for various companies for 18 years. Then for the next 10 years worked as a consultant offshore in the Gulf of Mexico, (various oil companies as consultant) South Texas,(Exxon Mobile) North Slope, Alaska,(BP, ConocoPhillips) Rifle, Colorado,(Exxon Mobile) Big Piney, Baroil, Hiawatha, Wamsutter, Wy.,(Devon, Encana, Merit Energy, Cabot Oil & Gas, Ultra) and Hilo, Hawaii (Puna Geothermal). I worked with MI-SWACO two years as a Senior Drilling Fluids Specialist primarily in the Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kansas areas. Drilling fluids consultant to bp America in the Wamsutter, Wyoming area 4 years. Drilling fluids consultant to MISWACO for Anadarko in Colorado 1 year. Currently working as a drilling fluid consultant to NAFTA MUD INC. for RKI in Wyoming area.

Work History

The work offshore primarily involved the drilling of major directional holes, with angles in excess of 65 degrees to near horizontal. For two years I worked exclusively for Mud Check, Inc., Houston, Texas Consulting Firm, running predominantly oil- based drilling fluids, sythetic oil based drilling fluids,(proficent with ESCAID 110 & PETROFREE SF systems. and occasional

waterbase systems for Exxon Mobil Development Company. Exxon Mobil utilized the latest Schlumberger Extended Reach Tools, which are similar to Baker Hughes Auto-Trac Systems. I have engineered fluid systems during the utilization of both service company's extended reach directional systems. While in the Gulf of Mexico, I worked on floaters, jack-ups, inland barges. Also, I have been involved with and have extensive experience in directional holes in Southern and Eastern parts of Oklahoma and Arkansas. Note: I have experience with the MISWACO, BAROID, BAKERHUGHES INTEQ, and FLUIDS MANAGEMENT oilbase / waterbase / and completion fluids systems.

FLOATER EXPERIENCE. I have worked on various floaters in the GOM. Primarily for Walter Oil & Gas Inc. Houston, Texas. The floaters were all of the DIAMOND OFFSHORE DRILLING CO. Drilling operations took place in the following areas and blocks. EAST BREAKS 168, 104, GARDEN BANKS 108, 104, 179, 152, EWING BANKS 1006, HIGH ISLAND SOUTH ADDITION BLK

169 (just off shelf) MISSISSIPPI CANYON 443, 192.

FLOATER WATER DEPTH RANGE 1700'-2000'+

TYPE MUD SYSTEMS UTILIZED ON FLOATERS

1. lignosulfonate mineral oil dispersed systems WBM 2. lignosulfonate mineral oil dispersed with 2-3% glycol 3. non-dispersed low solids PHPA systems with 1.75-3 lb.per bbl. active polymer PHPA (EZMUD DP & LIQUID EZMUD.) Achieved gauge hole with these systems. Used some glycol for additional gumbo stabilization requiring some rheology control with small additions of thinners. The high concentration of PHPA systems were achieved through presoluabilized, ph reduced, lignite base for PHPA polymer, which was then added slowly into drilling fluid system.

The last four years I have monitored mud systems predominantly on horizontal drilling projects utilizing waterbase and oil base fluid systems including sodium silicate waterbase muds and oil base muds in Arkansas to depths of 6000 ft. to 8,000 ft. with kick off points at 3,000 ft. to 4,000 ft.The horizontal jobs using both waterbase and diesel oil base systems in Oklahoma were to depths of 14,000 ft. to 18,000 ft. with kick off points originating from 10,000 to 12,000 ft. where the drilling of the curves started, progressing through the 4,000 ft. to 6,000 ft. horizontal sections drilled.

I provided drilling fluids consultant fluids engineering service for 3 years to bp America Wamsutter, Wyoming.

I am presently consulting for MISWACO on the north slope in Alaska.

I have my own computer, and am able to generate the mud reports from various computer programs appropriate for particular operations, dependent upon what data is required by the operator. I also have my own mud testing laboratory / equipment, etc.
