Subsea Power cable to Halul

Project included detail design of supplying electric power to Halul Island from KAHRAMAA grid in Ras Laffan via 2x100 MW 132kV 96 kms sub sea cables. The Project includes substation at Halul and modification of existing power management system.

Subsea Power cable to NFA

Exxon Neftegas Limited Sakhalin-1 / Arkutun-Dagi offshore platform

The project consists of detail design for drilling rig and production facility to produce 90 kbd of oil, and 130 Mscfd of gas.

Responsible for detail design based on IEC rated equipment selection, power distribution system design consisting of 4 each 15 mw / 10 kV Solar Titan-130 Gas-Turbine Generators, 10 kV switchgear lineup to feed 5 mw 10 kV Motors, and step down transformers to feed 6 kV and 380 Volt loads. Performed short circuit calculations, load flow calculations, and motor starting studies for selecting and specifying switchgear, transformer, and feeder breaker ratings. Prepared protection and metering one line diagrams, substation design, equipment arrangements and layouts.

Petrobras Comperj Rio De Janeiro Petrochemical Complex.

Project consists of multiple chemical processing facilities with 500 MW power demand. Responsible for performing system design studies to select 345 kV GIS bus and breaker ratings and arrangement, 230 kV GIS bus and breaker ratings and arrangement. 500 MVA power transformers, 345 kV & 230 kV XLPE cable sizes. Prepared protection philosophy for 345 KV, 230 KV 34.5 kV, 13.8 kV, 4.16 kV and 480 Volt equipment.

Sinclair Heavy Crude Expansion Project at Tulsa Refinery to process heavier and sour crude and expand the capacity of the refinery.

Performed ETAP studies including short circuit calculations, load flow calculations, and motor starting studies scenarios for selecting and specifying switchgear, transformers, and feeder ratings. Saudi International Petrochemical Company - Juabil Sipchem Olefins Complex - Sipchem olefins complex project for Saudi International Petrochemical Company. Responsible for detail design of overall power distribution system of more than 22 plants, totaling loads up to 220 MW. The power distribution consists of utility source rated at 230 KV to main GIS substation, and to main plant area substations with 50/ 63/86 MVA transformers and 13.8 kV / 4.16 kV / 480 volt switchgears. Performed ETAP studies including short circuit calculations, load flow calculations, and motor starting studies scenarios for selecting and specifying switchgear, transformers, and feeder ratings. The facility consists of large induction motors, variable speed extruder drives and SCR controlled heater loads. Develop specification and data sheets for high voltage equipment. Marathon Oil Company - West Africa Gas Capture and EG LNG 2 –

Responsible for short circuit, load flow, motor starting and protection relay selection studies using GE Multiline 750, 469, and 489 relays. The facility consists of two GE Frame 5- 22.5 MW gas turbine generators and 13.8 KV, 4.16 KV and 480 volt power distribution substations with large 4000 hp induction motors. Prepared protection and metering one line diagrams, select transformer sizes and select switchgear equipment ratings.

Unocal Bangladesh - detail design for Bibyana Gas Development Project –

Responsible for short circuit, load flow, motor starting studies and protection relay settings. The facility consists of three 1 mw on site gas turbine and diesel generators and 480 volt power distribution substations. Prepared protection settings and testing data sheets for Siemens WL breakers with ETU 748 solid state tripping modules.

WorleyParsons Iraqi Joint Venture, Kirkuk Iraq –

Worked on detail design of WorleyParsons Iraqi Joint Venture project in Kirkuk Office. Coordinated with other disciplines, vendors, subcontractors, and construction contractor. This project consisted of design, specifications, & installations of 33KV, 11KV, & 415 Volt equipment, in accordance with IEC standards. The electrical equipment was supplied by Siemens High Voltage and Low voltage manufacturing plants in Turkey. All power and control cables including terminations were specified in accordance with IEC standards and were supplied by Nexans manufacturing plants in Turkey. Responsible for writing electrical equipment specifications, data sheets, and scope of work documents. Performed ETAP studies for short circuit, & load flow analysis for switchgear equipment ratings. Developed relay co-ordination and protection settings for 33KV, 11KV breakers, using Multilin 750 relays. Prepare One Line diagrams, prefabricated switchgear building specifications & layouts. Obajana Cement Power Plant, Nigeria –

Project consisted of detail design of 3-GE-LM-6000 (45 MW/11.5kV) dual fired gas turbine generators provided by GE Aero to be installed for Obajana Cement plant in Nigeria. Prepared metering and protection 1-Line diagrams, grounding grid system design and layout, switchgear building equipment layouts, plant area and control room lighting design, installation details, cable schedules, cable tray sizing routing, and take offs. Issued purchase requisition for bulk electrical materials, cables and accessories.

Saudi Chevron Petrochemical Company Jubail –

Responsible for detail design of 115 KV Gas Insulated Substation extension work. Prepared 115 KV breaker protection systems including 115 kV bus differentials, over current and directional relay selection and protection settings. Prepared 115 KV solid dielectric cable specification and data sheets. Performed ETAP short circuit and Load flow analysis for 115 kV and 13.8 KV, switchgear ratings. Prepared load list and power cable duct bank routing. Prepared hazardous area classification.

Olokola Gas Supply (OKGS) offshore facility

The Olokola Gas Supply (OKGS) offshore facility consists of offshore operating platform, flare head and a future compression platform currently designed as “LP”, and connected with bridge to living quarter platform.

The scope included system studies including load flow study and motor starting study for the Funiwa Platform and associated installation.

Escravos Gas Project Phase 3, Chevron Nigeria Limited –

Project consisted of onshore gas processing facility as part of on overall NNPC-CNL Western Delta gas development program. Responsible for Electrical Front End Engineering Design (FEED) including designing new prefabricated substations with on site power generating facility using Solar Gas Turbine Generators. Prepared load list, generator sizing calculations, power transformers, 13.8 kV, 4.16 kV and 480 volt substations. Prepared specification for 13.8 kv, 4.16kv switchgear, and 480 volt switchgear and MCCs. Prepared metering and protection 1-Line diagrams, switchgear building equipment layouts, installation details, cable schedules, cable tray sizing, routing, and take offs. Issued purchase requisition for budgetary estimates for substations, and generators. Provided budgetary cost estimates for bulk electrical materials, cables and accessories.

Wolf Hollow Combined Cycle Power Plant –

Worked on detail design of Wolf Hollow combined cycle power plant for Enron consisting of 2 combustion gas turbine generators each rated at 271 MVA and heat recovery steam turbine generator rated at 334 MVA, located at Granbury, TX. Responsible for review and approvals of Mitsubishi M501 gas turbine generator and auxiliary equipment vendor DWGs. Prepared three line diagrams / one line diagrams and phasor diagrams. Prepared area classification, and equipment location at the power plant facility. Provided protective relay settings, configured user map address for modbus communications with DCS, and prepared set point files for GE power management 750, 745, 469, and PQM relays. Prepared requisitions and reviewed vendor DWGs for power distribution center prefabricated buildings consisting of 7.2 Kv & 480 V switchgear/MCCs, UPS, RTU, and substation protection relay panels.

Prepared cost estimate and feasibility study for Borealis development to extend 69 kV circuits to six miles, with solid dielectric power cable including overhead lines consisting of tangent/ terminal poles, with Hawk/ acsr cable. The detail design work involved new 115 kV transmission line, dead end A-frame structures, 121 kV SF6 breakers, disconnect switches, 115 KV-13.8 kV 50/67 Mva power transformers, 13.8 kV bus duct, 13.8 kV vacuum breaker line up, Inverter and dc battery system. Coordinated with other disciplines, vendors, subcontractors, and construction contractor.

Uthmaniyah Gosp-6 Gas Gathering Centre - The project consisted of installing gas gathering facility with 7000-hp gas compressor and air-cooled heat exchanger. The electrical work included detail design of 115 kV transmission line, 115 kV SF6 circuit switcher, 25 Mva power transformer, 13.8 kV feeder circuit breaker, and associated protection relay control panel.

Design of overhead distribution lines - Designed more than 500 km of 13.8 kV and 4.16 kV distribution lines to more than 300 cathodic protection rectifiers for well casings and flow lines. The design work included design of tap of poles, dead end poles, and riser poles with complete hardware and fittings, and provided sag and tension calculations.

Abu Safah Offshore platform - The project consisted of installing gas turbine drive for 3500 hp shipper pump. Responsible for the design and procurement of 480 V starters for auxiliary motors prepare detailed design of power, lighting and grounding of offshore platform modifications.
