MANUFACTURING DESIGN AND QUALITY ENGINEER
Design and Quality Engineer with proven experience in part and assembly modelling as per requirements, resolving design issues, project life cycle management, creating bill of materials, costing sheets, operation method sheets and quality assurance for manufacturing of parts in the production line. Delivered efficiency improvements, cost reductions and quality enhancements. Trained in Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
OBJECTIVE
Obtain a full-time Full time position with a manufacturing industry that will utilize my product and process competence to meet derived quality targets through continuous improvement.
EDUCATION
Bradley University, Peoria, IL Expected: December 2015
Master of Science, Industrial Engineering GPA: 3.86
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, India 2006 - 2010
Bachelor in Technology, Mechanical Engineering GPA: 3.51
Related Coursework: Lean Six Sigma Methodologies, Simulation for Manufacturing and Service Systems, Operations Research, Computational Foundation for Business Intelligence, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Advanced Facility Planning, Statistical Methods, Design and Analysis of Experiments, Engineering Economy and Cost Analysis.
RELATED EXPERIENCE
Research Assistant at Bradley University Oct 2014 – April 2015
Worked on a research related to Anthropometric data and grip strength analysis using descriptive statistics and linear regression methods.
Analysis of the anthropometric sample data is used for designing a self-mount flexible chair and office chair for ergonomic seating.
Taguchi-based Six Sigma to optimize 3D printing process Class Project Summer-I 2015
Applied Six Sigma tools including the following: SIPOC, FMEA, C&E matrix, Fishbone, Cpk analysis, etc. for 3D printing process to identify parameters affecting the strength of the printed part.
L9 Taguchi method applied to identify the optimal parameter setting of 3D printer to improve strength of part.
Confirmation runs were done and created SPC charts for future control of the process.
An amount of $646,230.00 is saved to the company after process improvement.
Facility Planning of an Organization Class Project Spring 2015
Optimized the facility layout by creating an efficient and unidirectional assembly flow by utilizing the unused floor space available thereby minimizing the material handling costs and improving the efficiency of the layout.
Added 2 additional departments in the current layout by maintaining the unidirectional assembly flow.
Provided cabins for all the concerned supervisors of each department at respective cells in the shop floor to have more focus on their cells and improve efficiency of the product.
Built a 3D model of the desired assembly line in AutoCAD – Factory CAD and used VIS MOCKUP 8.3 to simulate the process and flow
Other Softwares used: Jensen Excel Add In, BLOCPLAN and Layout VT.
