**** **** ***** **, *******, TX ***** acrikv@r.postjobfree.com 909-***-****, 832-***-**** Looking to grow by learning and applying new knowledge. I gather and understand market, production, management and information to improve the conducting of business. Having been able to negotiate both purchases and sales has let me understand the needs in both sides. Interested in all things that fuel progress such as energy and oil. Studied engineering, economics, and chemistry. I have lived in Mexico and Brazil, and am very familiar with true ‘southern’ culture. Interested in all things related to science.

PLANT OPERATIONS & QC MANAGER, SHELBYVILLE, TN OCT 2014–DEC 2015

• Managed production of a newly acquired plant, which was producing losses. Responsible for two Black Clawson extrusion lines, and four shifts capable of 2 million lb monthly production.

• Found incomplete web extrusion in production. Increased efficiency by 25% by ordering and asking maintenance to replace new die-bolts.

• Implemented procedures for production, and maintenance. Restocked and reorganized maintenance inventory.

• Identified minimum sales and revenue requirements for plant production and profitable production threshold. Understood minimum cash flow requirements and the increased effect of production efficiency in reducing threshold and increasing profit. Focused on reducing downtime while decreasing scrap (efficiency).

• Attended meetings with CEO and with Dow Sales VP, M. Holland VP, and other vendors and industry leaders. Met with Mexico ownership and local industry leaders. Communicated to ownership about new arbitrage opportunities identified in hand stretch film, due to low resin and production costs, which led to new planned sales starting in Feb 2015. Learned about extrusion technologies, cast film processes, and their costs.

• Brought back up line 1 using diagnostic software, independently identifying two broken drives, and purchasing and replacing them within 3 days with new Eurotherm inverter digital drive cards. Bought used cards and extra spares cheaply and quickly through an eBay online vendor. Understood software and Eurotherm/Black Clawson general setup and spare parts. Saved production a week of downtime since engineer could not personally come.

• Used knowledge of melt and copolymer distribution characteristics and previous formulas to reformulate product to 300%+ stretch (highest industry standards) with appreciable improvements in puncture and resistance. Worked with engineers to tweak extruder temperature profiles and attained a record 0.5% scrap rate in a day. Proved that monthly scrap rates lower than 5% are attainable. Identified one of many problems with scrap due to time-based mixers. Worked with team shift managers to prevent all future production from using the inappropriate pump mixers, and negotiated purchase of new mixers with company’s approval (Negotiated directly with vendor CEO). Typical average scrap rates reduced from 20-30% to low teens during my management.

• Gathered information from previous job’s contacts to deliver management key information to help negotiate resin prices that allowed for a 23% and 24% reduction in Hexene LLDPE and mLLDPE resin (main raw materials) costs.

• Provided names for vendor of testing machinery that could reduce expenses to half the quoted $120,000 equipment with higher testing efficiency and ease of use.

• Fired/quit from company as the new sales consultant was promoted to CEO. SALES, OCI INTERNATIONAL, INC. HOUSTON, TX AUG 2012–OCT 2014

• In charge of documentation in logistics, contracts, Bill of Lading, package lists, and insurance.

• Gather and research documents, trade data, and pricing of commodity chemicals to develop sales through cold calling. Produce sales for PU systems, NaCN, H2O2, thermoplastics, detergents, plasticizers, minerals. Acquired pricing and information on suppliers for agricultural products such as egg yolk and IP grains for export to Korea.

• Worked on Hispanic markets: Costa Rica, Guatemala, Colombia. In charge of sales for PP/PE and Formosa specialty and commodity PVC. Developed relationships with key suppliers, including Lotte, Formosa, and Westlake. Increased purchasing by 500MT monthly.

STUDENT HELPER / IT ADMIN, BAYLOR COLLEGE OF MEDICINE HOUSTON, TX 2011–2012

• Wash and autoclave glassware while learning to produce batch E.coli-cultured protein.

• Managed and installed hardware and software for research Mac power servers (Unix-like systems).

• Run research software routines and produced diagrams showing novel differences in polar surfaces in human protein kinase G using software (x-ray crystallography, Pymol molecular modeling, APBS electrostatic potential modeling). EDUCATION AND SKILLS
