Telephonics Radar Systems Division, Huntington, NY 2009 – 2015

Led a multidiscipline team in executing 25 radar system projects for U.S. and International Maritime Search and Surveillance APS-143 radar programs producing $197M in sales.

Managed an engineering team in the design for various customer mission system integrations providing ISAR & SAR imaging, target tracking, weather, integrated IFF, automatic identification systems and software mode functionality obtaining a reduction in the development schedules by 20%.

Implemented change to project status communications and new reporting processes establishing weekly preparedness for status reviews up to the executive level.

Telephonics Communications Systems Division, Farmingdale, NY 2000 – 2009

Managed a 2005 acquisition in Sweden for development & production of wireless intercommunication systems used in Defense and Commercial applications, producing $40M in commercial production sales and a DoD 5 year IDIQ contract producing an additional $20M in sales.

Led the wireless team in the growth of a commercial product ($500K) DoD qualification effort to a joint services (PM Air Warrior/NAVAIR) $30M development and initial rate production contract for a secure module certified by the NSA.

Negotiated an initial $7M cost plus upgrade development program providing the B-52 a nuclear hardened secure wired digital system exercising changes and production options of $20M.

Implemented a streamlined presentation format for executive monthly reviews from a 60 plus chart format to less than 20 charts.

Lead in the development and implementation for revising the program management and engineering plans.

Negotiated a follow-on rail communication production contract with Kawasaki and Bombardier (NYC project) for $34M increasing margins to 36%.

Hired to lead the successful design, integration, qualification and full rate production phases recovery of a $70M rail transit communication system business unit, providing railroad and subway trains automatic visual, audio, route information and emergency communications to passengers and crew.

Lockheed Martin Fairchild Systems, Syosset NY 1996 – 2000

Assisted the Program Director in the design and qualification of the Advanced Tactical Aircraft Reconnaissance System (ATARS) Cost Plus Fixed Fee $80M contract with staffing assignments, flight test execution, customer liaison, production transition and program reviews yielding the full 5% fee.

Managed the development of the ATARS program Mini Data Link pod development and qualification efforts resulting in a $38M follow-on production contract.

Led the multidiscipline team efforts for major subcontracts requirements generation, statement of work preparation, contract negotiations, risk mitigation and qualification resulting in on time performance.

Selected to accompany and provide joint technical team oversight, at suppliers Denmark facility, resolving the Theater Airborne Reconnaissance System (TARS) F-15 pod environmental control system design issues within the 2 week requirement maintaining program delivery schedules.

Project Manager/Principle Engineer

Parker Hannifin Corp., Smithtown, N. Y. 1983 - 1996

Managed new product development and production implementation for various fuel management systems and engine instruments consisting of software programmable, electro-mechanical assemblies, LCD and active matrix LCD NVG compatible displays. These systems are used on the A-6, AV8B, F-14, F-15, F-16, F/A-18, KC-135, MD80, 737, 747, CL415, and S76 platforms.

Created and led a sustaining engineering team resolving production design issues resulting in an increase in quality to 97% and 98% on time delivery.

Team leader to restructure the organizations from functional groups to a work cell environment successfully organizing and co-locating staff within 3 months.

Managed a $3M redesign of the F-15 Engine Monitor Display, achieving a 30% unit cost reduction and McDonnell Douglas Preferred Supplier Certification.

Led a Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) team, producing reductions in parts by 65%, assembly time by 81% and operations labor by 68% on the MD90 Cockpit Display Unit.
