Dear Prospective Employer,
I am interested in pursuing a part-time receptionist or an administrative assistant position that will allow for flexible days within the regular five day work week. I currently have a part-time position that includes working 2 full days Monday – Friday. My desire is to seek a position in Northwest Houston that will fill in the rest of the week working approximately 2-3 full days between the hours of 7:30 am – 6:00 pm.
At the present I am a retired professional school counselor but I continue to work as a part-time counselor in the Cypress Fairbanks I.S.D. My days are very flexible as I create my own work schedule and work approximately 2 days a week. I provide counseling services to “homeless” students on various campuses and my work schedule for the month will vary according to the school calendar.
My qualifications will not be readily defined as having receptionist or assistant experience but my professional counseling skills in human services do include many qualifications that an excellent assistant must possess. My daily routine was to greet the public, answer phones and dispense information, use computer software, organize numerous files and to perform a variety of administrative functions as directed by supervisors. I have a degree in Professional Counseling and a Masters Degree in Education (Administration and Supervision). My primary job role was utilizing a multitude of high level of interpersonal skills to guide and counsel students and to handle sensitive and confidential information.
I would very much like to be considered for a part-time position that fulfills my desire to work approximately 2 days a week in conjunction with my other job role. I have enclosed an updated resume with current information.
Sincerely,
Luann D. Walker
