Education and Training
Certified Orthoptist : Orthoptics, 2013
Ross Eye Institute - Buffalo, NY
Under the supervision of the medical director and senior orthoptist, I was able to experience the way a strong clinical facility functions. The orthoptic program was comprised of hands-on learning as well as classroom education. I saw over 2500 patients with various visual impairments and pathologies. These included complicated forms of strabismus and sensory abnormalities. In lecture, we discussed topics including neuroanatomy, optics, and pharmacology. I created a Facebook page for prospective students in order to help them learn more about the program. After passing the certified board exam in 2013, I became a certified orthoptist. Bachelor of Science : Psychology, 2011
SUNY Buffalo - Buffalo, NY
Completed courses in chemistry, physics, and biology which prepared me for a future in the medical field. My focus in psychology reinforced my communication skills with the patient population. 630 Victory Blvd Apt 5G, Staten Island NY 10301
