Piping

Review all applicable documents prior to start Fabrication/welding activates such as approved Method of Statement, Inspection Test plan, Welding Procedure Specifications, Material Specifications, Drawing, Codes and Standards.

Checking of dimensions of material to ensure that they are in compliance with requirement on thickness of plate/pipes as per Drawings.

Welding

Selecting the proper welding process that gives the highest quality welds for the base material used.

Carrying out stage wise welding inspections including pre-heating, post heating & PWHT (post weld heat treatment) stages; undertaking complete preparation & review of QAP, ITP, WPS and PQR.

Developing procedures on NDT and Hydro Testing; examining the test packs and creating final documentation.

Preparing welding documents viz. Welding Procedure specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), Welder Performance Qualification (WPQ) Records, Welder Continuity Records, Weld Maps and Welding Data.

Handling troubleshooting, failure analysis, root cause analysis & metallurgical evaluations.

Establishing welding sequences to avoid distortion; executing periodical calibration for welding equipment.

Recommending suitable welding consumables & processes to enhance the life of components reduce the downtime and increase the plant availability & profits.

Inspecting the work after completion & immediately removing & replacing any defective weld.

Observing the size requirement for each weld and making sure that the specified size is met. Ensuring that finished appearance of the weld is smooth & that overlaps and undercuts have been repaired.
