Vice President, Manufacturing 1999 - 2003

Served as a member of the Executive Team responsible for the worldwide manufacturing operations for this leader in the precision measurement industry. Major responsibilities included P&L, Budgeting, and Global Operations and Supply Management. Responsibilities also included: management of all production planning and control, purchasing, inventory, quality, assembly, shipping/receiving, calibration/certification, assembly and facility departments. Reports included 11 directors/managers and approximately 150 associates.

Consistently achieved annual gross margins of approximately 50% - 60% of sales.

Director of Materials & Purchasing 1996 - 1999

Promoted from Purchasing Manager and responsible for procurement of approximately $25 million of highly engineered precision products including castings, forgings, machine parts, bearings, optical encoders, printed circuit boards, plastic injection molded parts, and other items. Managed the production planning, inventory control, and shipping and receiving staff. The staff included 4 managers and 17 associates.

Personally sourced goods in low cost countries resulting in a +20% reduction of material costs.

Developed and implemented a forecasting model that reduced delivery time from 8 weeks to 1 week.

Supervised 18,000 sq. foot expansion of the manufacturing facility and improved layout and flow of goods that increased efficiency almost 20%.

Developed system to track non-conforming material that resulted in quicker reporting and return to vendors for replacement or repair of goods decreasing probability of production slow down or stoppage.

Implemented Cycle Counts improving inventory accuracy to approximately 99%.
