1.Implemented organizational design for Global Customer Support of over 350 aircraft for 85 bases in 35 Countries, with a management communication protocol, to ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information between all parties to meet contractual and safety requirements.

2.Developed and implemented the daily availability performance tool for planning and measuring of contractual commitments as well as ensure downtimes are dealt with appropriately, guaranteeing aircraft availability.

3.Designed and implemented the logistics for materials visibility to ensure on-time availability for preventative and corrective maintenance parts requirements to meet contractual commitments.

4.Drafted, obtained approvals and introduced Policies, Procedures and Processes to align with revised business practices in-line with contractual commitments and Local Civil Aviation Authorities in Brazil.

5.Project Managed remediation of more than 1000 financial gaps for SOX compliance year one and follow up actions in training resulting in compliance year two.

MTU Maintenance Canada - Richmond British Columbia

A North American member of the MTU Maintenance network of companies, the largest provider of independent commercial engine services worldwide. Based in Richmond, British Columbia, the company repairs engines and accessories and performs engine tests.

Operations Director: August 2000 – June 2005

MRO Operations Director and Production Manager, (Person Responsible for Maintenance, Accountable Manager) Hi By-Pass aero engines. Co-ordination, management of engines from induction, work scoping, disassembly, inspection, repair, procuring, materials management, sub and final assembly to test of engines.

1.Designed, developed and managed the solution for full materials visibility of an engine MRO facility, resulting in more accurate data to manage the MRO process of 80 shop visits a year and thereby assure improved invoicing and shop visit turnaround time.

2.Managed a major Project for the standardization of business processes and practices, resulting in improved efficiency and productivity due to the ability of work-sharing resources, expertise, capabilities and services worldwide and specifically between Canadian and German operations.

3.Managed and developed the project plan for presentation and approval for separate new business area for the MRO processing of engine related accessory overhauls.

1.Spearheaded the first time utilization of digital imaging in aviation documentation for the full release to service of an aircraft system for Operational, Maintenance, Structural Repair and Overhaul, that met Military and Civil Aviation Authority requirements.

South African Air Force, 2 Air Depot - Cape Town

2 Air Depot established as a decentralized command structure of Air Logistics Command for the Southern Air Force, providing Integrated Logistics Support in all disciplines through System Support Supply to the a fleet of aircraft servicing the Southern Air Force.

VP Fleet Management: October 1994 - May 1996

1.Developed, systemized and managed a fleet of aircraft with full Integrated Logistic Support for Aircraft Systems and Product Support Supply for the SAAF, meeting contractual commitments of 95% aircraft availability.

2.Developed and managed the Materials Management Program required to meet operational performance requirements for the fleet through implementation of high quality and costs effective Vendor and Supplier Contracts.

3.Developed and implemented a one stop shop for the System and Product support supply contracts for full Integrated Logistic Support of the C47-TP and Pilatus Astra aircraft that met operational performance requirements for the fleet.

4.Spearheaded the implementation of a Reliability Availability and Maintainability program for an aircraft fleet with additional development of System Performance Measurement and implementation of a failure reporting and corrective action system, resulting in a cost effective operation for a fleet of aircraft that met contractual commitments.

5.Developed and implemented a system failure reporting procedure, with a corrective action closed loop data system to ensure the structured and configured process of aircraft and system performance measurement for the fleet that resulted in improved service life.

6.Spearheaded the successful implementation of an Engine Condition Trend Monitoring (ECTM) program for a fleet of aircraft engines that ensured optimum operational efficiency and prevention of system down time due to unscheduled maintenance including reduced maintenance costs as a result of equipment reaching guaranteed TBO`s.

South African Air Force, 2 Air Depot

Chief Technical Inspector (Director of Quality and Manufacturing): June 1991 – October 1994

1.Spearheaded the implementation of a Configuration Control Board for the successful modification management of a fleet of aircraft through the respective service life, and thus assuring high quality and safety for all system, sub systems, components and parts.

2.Managed an increased Force Multiplier for the SAAF by successfully implementing the application of the C47-TP Medium Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft, which was completed as a fully-fledged mid-life update and re-certification program (during a 25 year period of arms embargo).

3.Utilized superior problem solving skills to spearhead the design and implementation of a flight certification program for the SAAF, which met and exceeded minimum requirements of the Civil Aviation Authorities, and resulted in the SAAF maintaining air power superiority in the face of more modern USSR equipment during a 25 year period of arms embargo.

South African Air Force - Various Positions

The SA Air force is tasked with protecting the airspace of the Republic through the conduct of air operations, that is, to protect the Republic from an air attack or make it impossible for any opposing air force to provide attacking ground forces with air support.

Flight Engineer, Aircraft Maintenance Engineer

1.Led a team that formulated and executed the successful rescue of 5 crew members and two disabled helicopters and other equipment (valued at $25 million) from the Antarctic in adverse weather conditions over a three day period.

2.Developed and implemented Night Vision operating policies and procedures which resulted in an increase of helicopter utilization and zero negative incidents for the balance of the conflict period.

3.Applied specialized training and successfully prevented the infiltration of terrorist activities into a civilian region which would have resulted in significant loss of life and the capture of children for training as terrorists.
