Synergis Consulting, Alpharetta, GA. (2012 to Present)

SOFTWARE CONSULTANT currently working for Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, GA.

Referring Physician Portal - I am the lead developer responsible for the requirements, design, development and installation of the Referring Physician Portal web site. This portal will allow providers, doctors who refer patients to Emory hospitals and clinics, the ability to manage patients, schedule procedures, verify insurance and view status of procedure outcomes directly from Emory. Emory healthcare and providers can keep track of patient/scheduling status for meaningful use, medical necessity and referrals. The application is written in .Net/ASP/C# using Visual Studio 2010 with integrations using Cerner Millennium Objects (Java Servlets), Documentum CMS (using DFS), AD/LDAP, SOAP and RESTful web services and Oracle databases (table creation, triggers).

SharePoint Project - responsible for the requirements, design, installation, development and integration of Microsoft SharePoint 2010 to support EHR projects. This includes customization of SharePoint (workflows, event receivers using Visual Studio and integration with EMC Documentum CMS).

Mobile/Tablet Applications – developed .Net/PowerShell application (stand-alone and Citrix) for a Microsoft Tablet application for patient registration and electronic signature. An Emory registration person will look up the patient (from Cerner EHR) using the tablet, then hand the tablet to the patient to review/sign necessary documentation. Files are emailed to the patient and stored in Documentum CMS for audit/retrieval. Oracle databases (table creation, triggers).

NRS Global Partners, Quincy, MA. (2012 to Present)

SOFTWARE CONSULTANT currently working for Lahey Hospitals and Medical Centers, Burlington, MA.

I am responsible for helping with the technical design and implementation of an enterprise-wide Clinical Knowledge Management system at Lahey to manage information in the EPIC EHR System. The first phase is architecting the system using two products: SharePoint 2010 (content management) and Jive (social collaboration). Jive will be used by subject matter experts (SMEs) to document Epic content (example: cardiology order sets). This can include documentation from inside/outside sources, votes, polls, discussions, etc. This will provide “governance” around order set maintenance within Epic (which Epic cannot do). My role is also developing .Net code for SharePoint, Java code for Jive and RESTful web services to help integrate the products where they fail to meet requirements. I have also developed custom event receiver and workflow activity code for SharePoint.

Millstone Medical Outsourcing, Fall River, MA. (2012)

DIRECTOR – APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT responsible for a group of 3-4 developers that develop and maintain a custom built Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system based on .Net/ASP with a code base of over two million lines of code. Worked alongside business stake holders to determine system requirements (maintenance of current code and requests for new features, integrations) and budget for projects. Daily management of developers, project plans, software (I was still involved with hands-on coding), servers and 24 hour production support. MS SQL databases (database creation, table creation, triggers, stored procedures).

Partners HealthCare System, Inc., Wellesley, MA. (2005 to 2012)

SOFTWARE ARCHITECT responsible for the requirements, design, development and integration of Documentum Content Server, eRoom, Site Caching and Content Intelligence Services with iLog JRules and HLi Terminology Services to form a Clinical Decision Support platform for enterprise-wide use.

I was the software architect responsible for making Documentum an enterprise-wide Clinical Knowledge Management system at Partners. The first phase was architecting Documentum to be the content store for clinical information (created from collaboration processes done in eRoom). The content in eRoom is actually stored in the Content Server. These documents then go through a workflow that eventually publishes the information using Site Caching Services and Content Intelligence Services to the .Net portal. Another part of the project was the integration of the HLi Terminology platform (www.healthlanguage.com) and the iLog Rules Engine (www.ilog.com) into Documentum to provide an enterprise wide portal that ties clinical content, business rules and terminology (SNOMED, ICD9-10, HL7) onto one platform that can be accessed via Java API or web services.

Responsibilities include installation, configuration, customization and integration of all of the products mentioned above. Development using .Net, Java/J2EE, Eclipse, Visual Studio, MS SQL, Tomcat, JBoss.

Independent Consulting (2004 – 2005)

TSG, Inc., (2005) - SOFTWARE CONSULTANT involved in the development of document management systems. I worked as a Technical Manager on the development of .Net applications that interacted with information stored in Documentum. This included Search, Import, Export, Check in and Checkout capabilities embedded in VB .Net code.

Pfizer Inc., Groton, CT. (2004 to 2005) - SOFTWARE CONSULTANT involved in the development of document management systems under pharmaceutical regulatory constraints (CFR 21 Part 11). I worked as a Technical Manager on the migration of external data sources to/from Documentum DocBases using DocBasic and Java/DFC. This includes the verification of schema mapping, conversion and validation testing of data migrated from Oracle, flat files and other data sources.

Fidelity Investments Corp., Marlborough, MA. (1998 to 2004)

SOFTWARE ENGINEER/DATABASE ENGINEER/TECHNICAL LEAD/DEVELOPMENT MANAGER/ARCHITECT involved in the development of enterprise web applications for internal and external customers using the latest, cutting-edge web technologies.

In my last position I functioned as the architect on the Collaboration-Document Management system. I took part in the technical evaluation of several vendors for a Proof of Concept. Design and development was done within the WebSphere framework (J2EE, Struts, Taglib) using WebSphere Studio Application Developer

(WSAD), ClearCase, TogetherJ UML Modeling and Dreamweaver MX. Phases included the architecture/design and the integration of the Documentum 5i (5.2.5) DFC into our own J2EE framework. For the Proof of Concept, we did some custom WDK work to prove some concepts. Data feeds from several sources were obtained through the development of Web Services (Java, TIBCo, IBM MQ mainframe). My experience as a DEVELOPMENT MANAGER came during the development of a content management system. I was responsible for several recent college hires for managing and mentoring in internet development. My group worked on applications which included applets using AWT, JavaBeans, PL/SQL, HTML, XML, CSS and JavaScript. New development included the integration of the Open Pages Content Management system into the portal architecture. On an earlier project concerning content management, I worked as a TECHNICAL LEAD on the integration of the Vignette Content Management System V5 with IBM WebSphere 3.x. I worked on the installation and configuration of WebSphere Application Server and Netscape Enterprise web servers including JSP/servlet access to Oracle/Sybase data sources using JDBC.
