Responsible for the overall operation of plant equipment and efficiently leading the department in the effective maintenance of the electrical, mechanical and any other systems in the plant, as well as overall facility maintenance. Electrical Department Supervisor / Plant Engineer 2011 to 2013

Responsible for planning and leading the Electricians, Instrumentation & Controls personnel, augmented Mechanical Maintenance personnel and contractors in the preventative / predictive maintenance, repair and initial installation/decommissioning a power production facility in a cost effective manner in order to ensure the safe and reliable operation of all equipment, minimizing maintenance related downtime, while, maximizing efficiency, effectiveness and life expectancy of plant assets.

Daily scheduling of work force to include the allocation of resources and coordinating workflow as determined by available equipment operating condition and workforce availability.

During my time at PPL Montour, LLC, I have conducted two major outages ($100 Million per), and numerous mini-outages.

At the 10 month mark, I was promoted to the Controls Engineer.

My scope of responsibility included the entire station (1600 MW of generation).

As the Distributed Control System (DCS) Engineer requisitioned hardware/software, performed hardware/software integrations, configured system instrument databases and control system custom graphics and reports.

Additionally, I wrote and performed commissioning tests and helped manage the project schedule of major DCS upgrades.

EXPERIENCE: United States Navy

Staff Officer 2008 to 2009

Surface Warfare Officer Schools – Newport, RI

Conducted course and documentation overview for Navigation, Seamanship, and Ship handling curriculums taught to young officers in a wide cross-section of topics to include ship handling fundamentals, lessons learned and case studies, Operational Risk Management, and Bridge Resources Management. Instructed officers in the Conning Officer Virtual Environment trainers in order to hone the skills of young Surface Warfare Officers.

In this position, I managed four midlevel officers and dictated their schedules and that of the courses being taught.

Fire Control Officer 2004 to 2005

USS BULKELEY (DDG-84) – Norfolk, VA

Managed the Air Defense Operations for USS BULKELEY, including the training of assigned personnel in tactical and technical employment of the AEGIS Weapon System. Oversaw the scheduling, preparation, and tracking of maintenance.

Led a division of over 60 Sailors. Managed and maintained a system of $100M+ in equipment and ready service inventory, to include the daily maintenance and overhaul of major equipment.

As the single point of contact for a Ship’s Weapon System upgrade, which exceeded $50M in cost and required the coordination of all departments on the ship to produce a flawless operation, I drove the schedule and budget to finish on time and under budget.

With a compressed schedule, I coordinated all equipment grooms (commissioning) and crew training associated with system upgrade; ensured all requisite maintenance was completed and all system discrepancies were corrected.

Trained 2 firing missile firing teams of over 30 personal per team and crossed multiple divisions to achieve 3 successful standard missile firings.

As the Air Defense Officer, ensured all pre-requisite schools and over 530 critical training objectives were achieved, resulting in a combat ready assessment during the first training review; saving the Navy tens of thousands of dollars in additional training.

Anti-Submarine Officer 2002 to 2004

USS STEPHEN W. GROVES (FFG-29) – Pascagoula, MS

Managed the ship’s Electronic Key Management System without incident for 2 years (classified material, which required the management of over 2000 separate pieces of material). Processed classified materials on a daily basis.

Managed the training of 18 personnel in the technical and tactical employment of the hull-mounted sonar and the towed array sonar.
