A challenging BI Server and BI Apps migration from Version 10.1.3.4 to the latest 11.1.1.7, Informatica and DAC that included redesigning the Security Model, RPD Migration, Catalog Migration, tuning the Configuration files and upgrade validation.

Security model was redesigned to conform with 11g OPSS (Oracle Platform Security Services) and implemented Role based security for content and SQLProvider for row level security. Also, tuned to RPD / Business Model to conform with the best practices and eliminate consistency checker warnings.

Used accel-BI, an automated upgrade validation tool that could run the reports from the OBIEE Catalog in a batch mode before upgrade; takes a snapshot of the data and compares the data again with the same report post upgrade. It compares data and formatting as well and reports the variations. This sort of automation helps to drastically reduce the upgrade project cycle and to perform a thorough validation as well to ensure the upgrade is successful.

Developed a Data Warehouse and Technology roadmap for this leading Health & Life Insurance firm. The DW Solutions roadmap comprised of analyzing client’s strategic goals, high level business and analytic needs, Business Improvement Opportunities (BIOs), short term and long term implementation plan from a Top –Down approach. Designed, Modeled and Developed a Profitability Data Mart that consists of General Ledger, Premiums & Claims Systems. The Income, Expenses, Premiums, Claims Transactions were retrieved from several silo systems and loaded into this data mart at the member level grain to calculate the Profitability of the company at various levels – Organization, State, Cost Center, Products & Members. Local Law Enforcement Portal is a unified and consolidated view of information as an intuitive, user friendly BI Dashboard to share sensitive information in a secure manner across numerous law enforcement agencies.
