Environmental Manager/ Nuclear Power Training Facility/ Goose Creek, SC $110M (02/15-Present)

Responsible for the Environmental program at the Nuclear Power Training Facility in Goose Creek, SC. Work includes the renovation of a multi-story training support building and construction of two new multi-story, blast hardened training operation and support buildings; a Secured Area Entry Point building; a new security checkpoint entrance/sally port; and a berthing pier extension. Offsite electrical distribution system improvements and new site substations are also included. The project is being performed in various phases while existing facilities remain fully operational. As the Environmental Manager my duties included performing all environmental related record keeping, administrative duties, inspections, tracking of all hazardous materials on-site, data collections, sampling of outfalls, maintenance of control measures, spill/release clean up, and reporting in strict compliance with the project’s Erosion Sedimentation and Pollution Control Plan (ESPCP). Ensure compliance with the Environmental Protection Plan including Caddell personnel and its subcontractors. Ensure compliance with Federal, State, local, and station requirements. Ensure compliance with Hazardous Waste Program requirements (including hazardous waste handling, storage, manifesting, and disposal); implement the Environmental Management Plan. Ensure that all environmental permits are obtained, maintained, and closed out. Ensure compliance with Storm Water Program Management requirements. Ensure compliance with Hazardous Materials (storage, handling, and reporting) requirements; and coordinated any remediation of regulated substances (lead, asbestos,) during demolition of Building 43 and transite pipe. Ensure waste segregation and storage compatibility requirements are met. Ensure all Contractor personnel are trained in 40 CFR requirements in accordance with their position. Maintained the Environmental Records binder and required documentation, including environmental permits compliance and close-out.

In addition to my environmental duties I also served as an Alternate Project Safety Manager (Alternate PSM) and assisted in Quality Control Duties. As an alternate PSM I assisted in conducting new employee indoctrinations, equipment inspections and monitoring the site to ensure that all employees were wearing the proper PPE and performing work in accordance with Caddell’s project site safety program, OSHA 1926, and the EM 385 1-1. My Quality Control Duties included updating as-build drawing for RFI’s, reviewing submittals for lead and asbestos removal, inspecting density test and infiltration test, and submitting dig permits, locate request, work orders, and outage request.

Project Safety Manager / D/B Rotary Wing Hangar / Fort Campbell, KY $35M (06/14 – 02/15)

Responsible for the safety program for the design and Construction of the Rotary Wing Hangar at Fort Campbell, KY, for an aircraft maintenance hangar and parking aprons. Work includes the construction of maintenance bays, maintenance shops, and flight operations facilities, safety and standardization rooms, enlisted flight training, aviator flight training areas, and associated training space. This project includes connection to the energy monitoring and control systems, fire detection and reporting systems, sprinklers, protected distribution system, intrusion detection, surveillance, and electronic access control systems. Supporting facilities include all related site-work and utilities (electrical, water, gas, sanitary sewer, and information systems distribution), lighting, parking, curb and gutter, sidewalks, fencing, storm drainage, landscaping, and other site improvements. Access for persons with disabilities will be provided. Comprehensive building and furnishings related interior design and audio visual design services are included. Responsible for the Safety, Health, and Environmental conditions for a $2.5M Live Fire Exercise Shoothouse at Fort Campbell, KY. The project included the Design and Construction of the Live Fire Exercise Shoothouse, AAR Building, Ops/Storage Bldg., Ammo Breakdown Bldg., Vault Latrine, and supporting facilities. Duties include preparing Activity Hazard Analysis for different job features, holding preparatory meetings, weekly safety meetings and new employee indoctrination training.
